The entire footbal world has been shocked and devastated by the incomprehensible news of the death of former Everton Captain, Gary Speed at the age of just 42, an apparent suicide.
Speed, a boyhood Evertonian, who was at Goodison Park only last week to witness the Blues 2-1 win over Wolves, joined the Blues in 1996 from Leeds United and made 65 appearances, scoring 18 goals before departing for Newcastle United in 1998.
