Saha hoping to kickstart his campaign

Louis Saha is hoping his first goal of the season against former club Fulham will help him kickstart his campaign.

The Frenchman scored what proved to be the decisive goal in second half stoppage time as the Blues won for the first time in four league games at Craven Cottage on Sunday.

Saha and Everton are now preparing to face Chelsea in the Carling Cup fourth round at Goodison Park on Wednesday with a place in the last eight at stake.

The 32-year-old has scored 10 goals against the West London club during his career, more than against any other side, and he is hoping to add to that tally under the floodlights on Wednesday.

“The goal against Fulham was a start and as a striker you need that to boost your confidence, you need to be fit and working hard and have to wait for your chances,” said Saha.

“We are playing at home against Chelsea and that will be a boost for us to have the fans backing us.

“It´s the Carling Cup, we might be facing a different side and I think we´ve got a great chance to upset Chelsea.”

Everton take on Chelsea in the fourth round of the Carling Cup on Wednesday at 8pm and tickets are still available. Prices start from £20 for adults and £10 for juniors. To buy your tickets visit evertonfc.com/eticketing, call 0871 663 1878 or drop into the box office at Goodison Park.
