Fellaini and Moyes Answer Allegation.

Injured Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini has responded to claims by his father that Everton played the star midfielder while still injured which resulted in Fellaini missing the rest of the season.

"I am aware of comments that have appeared in the media and all I can say is that I was fit to play against Sunderland," he exclusively told evertonfc.com.

"I trained well the day before and I wouldn´t play in such an important game if I wasn´t ready for it and I wouldn´t be selected if I wasn´t fit enough."

Everton manager David Moyes also seemed aghast at the accusation made by the players father and agent, that the club would put one of its players at risk of serious injury.

"That´s completely wrong. We would never do that, it´s a load of rubbish.

´We had to hold the boy back from training on the Tuesday and Thursday and he trained Friday.

´His dad´s maybe upset because the boy is going to have another operation on Monday.

´Who would do that? We wouldn´t – of course we wouldn´t.
´We certainly wouldn’t risk Marouane Fellaini, who has arguably been our best player this season.´

Meanwhile Fellaini has spoken of his disappointment at not being involved in the blues final third of the season.

"I am bitterly disappointed to have my season ended early but these things happen in football and I just have to work through it," he said.

"It happens and nobody is to blame."
