Kevin Keegan Stage 4 Cancer Diagnosis

Pilks

Player Valuation: £8m
Couldn't see a thread about this so...

I know he played for the RS, but unlike most who did, I always liked him. Even his deranged rant at Fergie showed a passion that is all too rare in today's game. I associate him more with Newcastle than our neighbours now anyway.

Was very sorry to hear of this diagnosis. Hoping he can beat it, though the odds are against him.

Rivalry be damned in this case, I wish him all the best...

There's always the "Still Alive" thread mate.

And I agree with your sentiments re wishing him the best.

It is a horrible thing to go through imagine his family and friends.

I think he was too decent for the cult. Always came across well as a genuine person. I am watching a lot of old World Cup matches on ITV at the moment, and he pops up frequently in the analysis or as co-commentator. That's quite the nostalgia fest, but it's festooned by dead men: Brian Moore, Brian Clough, Bobby Moore, Greavsie, Big Mal, Big Jack...

Comes across as pretty genuine and seemed to escape the cult. I think folk forget how tough he was due him being so affable as a manger, best of luck to him. With the right treatment thanks to brilliant medical staff, even stage 4 can be managed with a high quality of life for many years
Are you sure?

"Whilst having the scan for the operation, they found out I had cancer. They said they had an absolute top doctor for fighting what you have got, which is stage four cancer.

"So I went to meet him. He's a Liverpool supporter so I knew I wouldn't walk alone.

I do, however, have a lot of time for Keegan and wish him all the best.
