Maybe yes, maybe no.
But it does have some rapid relative Downwards mobility - ask Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea, United and even, dare I say it - City.
United and Arsenal maybe. Chelsea had a blip but they're still an elite club. Spurs are a better example of how long it takes to build up and even if they can't get top 4 this year they're still right there. Ultimately all of these clubs are still loaded and prestigious. It'll be hard for any to totally tank.

It's not 1983 anymore. Football doesn't have upward mobility like it did then. The only team that went from nowhere to winning the title this century is Leicester.
we are 3 games off a cup trophy and yet to start the FA Cup, thats potentially 2 trophy this year, even in a non upward mobility state (!) I think the league ambition is next year TBH. The team will be stronger for that I am sure.

We might be out of both cups before Zlatan were even to arrive

It's exactly what worries me about Ancelotti too. We have to stop thinking we can catch up to the top teams with one or two moves. It needs to be a process.

Wholly on board and agree completely. There needs to be a plan for incremental growth, I like Ancelotti, he’s a real football man, I’d back him for three years to build, I do however have a concern he might just be here for the money. Also the instability, he’s going to be linked with every high profile job, once a manager gets sacked. The squad is a basket case and needs total focus and commitment for three years to build and balance. I can’t say hand on heart I believe he will be here in 3years.

If he brought in a 38 year old centre forward, the whole thing just turns into a bit of circus and the very opposite of what we need, in terms of the profile and personality of a player.

Its time we stopped being a retirement home for formerly good or great players.

This will be the beginning of a new era under Carlo. If he comes it we will have at last made the step up and shown some real ambition.

A fresh approach to the way we do things would be very timely.
