Zenit might be sniffing after Fellaini

Couldn't get a team into the CL knock outs this year.

Zenit - Have only been playing together for 5 months, takes ANY team a long time to gel, and they played much better in the last couple of games in the CL and in their last few games
Spartak - very tough group, I know Celtic got through but they got lucky. Spartak went ahead in the nou camp, outplayed celtic twice and beat benfica

Also Russian teams have done alright in Europe over the years, especially the Moscow teams over the last 10 years

both russian teams qualified last year for the knockout round

the russian league is also very competitive at the top end, anyone can win it, and games are generally good

Dont be daft !

£30 million MAX!

£32m for Witsel, and Fellaini is better than Witsel, and on a four year contract.

So you're talking £35-40m minimum for a club like that. They set a rod for their own back with their other transfer dealings so if they want him, they pay properly for him.

many are exited about Russian league cause it is new phenomenon...with 2-3 Pretty good teams, and lots of money ( and we all know how business is run there, grey money)
League is ****e...they are desperately trying to rise its attraction with over the head buys.
Look at Hulk. Good example.

The Russian league is great entertainment, give it a couple of years and that monetary influx will even itself out over the whole league

If we had a chance to get £40m and it was a certainty that at least £30m would go back to Moyes for transfers, then unfortunately i'd probably be for it.

Which is sad, because i f***ing love Fellaini.

Me too. It all boils down to how the money gets spent though. A good example of money being spunked up the wall is what happened with Dalgliesh when he was given money. But there are two better examples with Everton.

The Lescott money wasn't spent very well initially, and we regressed quite a bit as a consequence, but when the money was re-invested this January, we ended up taking massive strides forward with the purchase of Gibson and Jelavic.

Just making the point that spending money on the wrong players can set you back big time.

If moyes got the money from a Fellaini sale we would come out the other end a better team/squad I have no doubt.

However it will be awful loosing him. Especially if its to another prem team!
