Your first match

every cloud has a silver lining.

all it means is he has the 'first time' to experience, and the sense of awe and wonder at every millisecond of that experience is one to treasure.

pints before the game, checking the program, tickets through the turnstyles, seeing all the people inside, finding the steps for your area, the sky basking your steps, upto the pitch level, field in front of you, sea of faces in seats, game on. and all the stuff in game.

whats fun is sitting on all four sides and comparing.

6th April 1985, Everton 4-1 Sunderland, Andy Gray scored two of the best goals I've seen, Trevor Steven scored another (sublime pass from Bracewell). All three goals were nominated for Goal of the Season, I think. It keeps reappearing on ESPN. Marvellous(y)

Well I have a big big day this week, on Thursday 28th it will be fifty years since my first EFC game, my diamond jubilee our Digs has looked it up, God I feel old, don't look it though, honest!:lol::lol:

can only remember three things about my first game.

1) it was around 87/88 in the upper bullens near the G st
2) the other team was playin in red/black. (might of been qpr, not sure)
3) all i kept shoutin was "offside ref, off side" when i had no clue what i was sayin. Hooked ever since

Took my littlest bro when he was 7, to his first game, 2002 . It was against southampton, 7-1 i think. It was december and the poor lad was absolutly freezin that much i had to put him in my coat where he fell asleep after half time. Cannot wait to take my boy next year, he'll be three then. COYB(y)(y)

We lost to QPR at home, 1-3. It must have been 1977/78, or thereabouts. I think Latchford scored, but I could be wrong.
77/78 Was at ahome game against QPR. Drew 3-3. Ross, King and Dobson scored for us they equalised late on with a looping header over Wood.
We were singing 'who's up Stanly's wife, who's up Stanly'wife? Tommy, Tommy Docherty, Tommy, Tommy Docherty'. Stan Bowles was one of my fave non-Everton players but it was still funny for a 12 year old

I remember it well. Day before my tenth birthday. I got given a Birthday card the day after signed by the squad given to me by Gary Stevens as he lived next door but one to us in Waverton Ave, Prenton.
It is now framed.

And people wonder why I am so devoted to the Blues. They love their fans just as much as their fans love them.

arm of said jersey can be seen erect and cascading down the centre of the gwlady's street on the illustrious night against bayern munich.

we thought they'd never end
and then the shi'te they took them all away
but now that we are men
we've got them back again
