You know what I want to see?

Investment is needed. Now more than ever. It's a joke really because this season we will only attract 1 key player whereas Liverpool could sign 3. That's the difference.

Indeed. If you look at the first game at the Emirates then our problem was there for all to see. So much possession but so few chances created.

Brilliant post that mate!

Newcastle 1st half was pretty special, we absolutely battered them didn't we?

Hopefully Cardiff on Saturday we will go out with intent instead of the usual lacklustre 1-0 win against these type of teams.

I think the rest of the season could be a good end. Hopefully 12/12 points for next 4 games!

The first half against Newcastle was great, but Newcastle was shocking. The second half was a bit more of a contest. That Cabaye bloke came on and what a player he is

It's because we won't play against another centre back as bad as Diakite again this season why we won't have another performance like that.

He was atrocious.

Then again, we can hope Man City play Demechelis against us.

Spot on...that Diakite was beyond awful

That first half performance against Newcastle replicated in all of our remaining games. That first half had me thinking we were invincible, unbeatable, champions of England, it had me dreaming, the way we dominated and Lukaku destroyed them so easily at the back, the passing was excellent, the movement was incredible. The speed of our forward at was like lightning. Barkley's goal was class, the way Lukaku slotted in and made mince meat of their keeper and defender for the third. Going in at half time had me believing this was our time. We were unstoppable.

It brings me to my point, why can't we do it now to that same fluency? We've proved how good we can be but the last couple of months we have in my opinion struggled at times to create chances, find the onion bag, unlock defences and concede some really easy goals. That level of performance has been proven yet we don't see it enough. Cardiff are here to be slaughtered as are Swansea and Fulham but the chances are, we won't. It will be a close 1-0 or 2-1, leaving us thinking that Cardiff had their chances last 15 minutes to equalise. The same scenario applies to Swansea. Will we be leaving the game or talking about the game saying how close it was or will we be saying how we thrashed them to a pulp? Do we play better under the lights when the atmosphere is at it's best? I wish I knew the answer but we need to get that cuthroatedness back into our style of play and WE HAVE TO STOP SHOWING TEAMS TOO MUCH RESPECT!!!

It is frustrating to see how great we were up until the Swansea away game and how we started to slip at Stoke away, WBA away, Spurs and Chelsea. Not to mention we could've been beat at home by Villa, Swansea. I know no team can maintain the same level of form throughout a full season, that goes without saying but we've seen it done this season and for the remaining 11 games we have to play like we did against Newcastle!! First half that is. How class was that lads?

I think we would all love to see that, but only players such as Messi and Ronaldo are capable of playing at that level every week.
Mirallas, Barkley etc can produce those performances on occassion, but if you want someone who can do it every week for a full 90 minutes, then you are talking about 40-50M players.
It's not about respect, it's not about bottling it - it is about the abilities of the players to play their absolute best in every game

Diakite has never played for Newcastle.
Yanga-Mbiwa.
