Player Valuation: £500k
That first half performance against Newcastle replicated in all of our remaining games. That first half had me thinking we were invincible, unbeatable, champions of England, it had me dreaming, the way we dominated and Lukaku destroyed them so easily at the back, the passing was excellent, the movement was incredible. The speed of our forward at was like lightning. Barkley's goal was class, the way Lukaku slotted in and made mince meat of their keeper and defender for the third. Going in at half time had me believing this was our time. We were unstoppable.

It brings me to my point, why can't we do it now to that same fluency? We've proved how good we can be but the last couple of months we have in my opinion struggled at times to create chances, find the onion bag, unlock defences and concede some really easy goals. That level of performance has been proven yet we don't see it enough. Cardiff are here to be slaughtered as are Swansea and Fulham but the chances are, we won't. It will be a close 1-0 or 2-1, leaving us thinking that Cardiff had their chances last 15 minutes to equalise. The same scenario applies to Swansea. Will we be leaving the game or talking about the game saying how close it was or will we be saying how we thrashed them to a pulp? Do we play better under the lights when the atmosphere is at it's best? I wish I knew the answer but we need to get that cuthroatedness back into our style of play and WE HAVE TO STOP SHOWING TEAMS TOO MUCH RESPECT!!!

It is frustrating to see how great we were up until the Swansea away game and how we started to slip at Stoke away, WBA away, Spurs and Chelsea. Not to mention we could've been beat at home by Villa, Swansea. I know no team can maintain the same level of form throughout a full season, that goes without saying but we've seen it done this season and for the remaining 11 games we have to play like we did against Newcastle!! First half that is. How class was that lads?

I agree that first half against Newcastle was epic! Best football the old lady had seen for some time. We need to start smashing teams apart again starting against Cardiff, no reason why we can't win all our remaining games :D

That or like the entire Stoke (H) game, or our response to conceding against Fulham. Ruthless attacking.

Our midfield of barry and McCarthy are overused with no back up. Neither of them can afford an off day or we suffer. I think they could do with a rest to try and regain some energy, we don't have options though unfortunately.

This has certainly been an issue, but we can always drop Barkley deeper and play Osman or Mirallas in his place.

Barkley has plenty of energy but the way we are set up we need someone to break up the play, having Barkley in there may leave us a little exposed. It could be worth a try though as long as he can effect the game from deeper, which I see no reason why he can't. Hasn't looked the same since his toe went though.

That game against Newcastle was amazing, we hammered them in the 1st half then some how hung on for the win.
That day Barley and Lukaku were on the same wave length, haven't seen it since

I'd say it was more down to suicidal defending from Newcastle than us being exceptional. Their potential to implode is there for all to see, played right into our hands that night.

Danny, if you watch the game again from the off you'll see just how much we want this. This game was on the back of being knocked out the league cup so if the players get their heads together again, we can destroy Cardiff on the back of the Arsenal game. From the kick off our movement and passing was simply beautiful. 20 minutes into the game I was thinking about Barcelona at GP next season. It's a shame we didn't continue that way but remember the City game 5 days later. We took the lead when Lukaku turned Lescott inside out and even from kick off that game we attempted to put City to the sword. We were undone by a far better team that day but there was so many positives from the performance.

I was happy to lose that game 3-1 with our attacking intent rather than sitting at 1-1 and playing hoof ball. Because you know in time? This attacking intent is gonna pay off and we will be the ones who turn City, Arsenal and Liverpool over away from home. This is why Bobby still needs us to be patient. The Chelsea and Spurs results do not coincide with performance, in a little time, our performances will get the results they deserve.

I'll be brutally honest and say I can't see us beating these teams on a regular basis away from home until there's massive investment in the squad.

If we go with an open style to these places then we might nick a couple of wins along the way, just be prepared to take a lot of 4 goal thrashings too. I also think people exaggerate the performances against Chelsea and Spurs, I found both underwhelming and not dissimilar to what we've been accustomed to in previous seasons.

I'm not comparing the Spurs and Chelsea game to the Newcastle one, more like the Arsenal one but not as good. We were definitely the better side at Spurs and yes Chelsea was a game where we deserved a point.

Do you think our style of play is too open? To the point were we will take a few thrashings?

I think the risk of thrashings come when we're chasing a game. Arsenal and Liverpool being the examples.

For us to win these games away from home it's pretty simple for me. Replace Pienaar, Osman and Mirallas with £15/20m players. Give us that cutting edge in the final third, until then the style doesn't matter as we're far too easy to defend against.

Investment is needed. Now more than ever. It's a joke really because this season we will only attract 1 key player whereas Liverpool could sign 3. That's the difference.
