Because south Manchester and Birmingham are so far from each other for a footballer who can travel basically whatever time of day they want. Bolasie was finished by the cruciate ligament injury. Sad for him and sad for Everton as he was our big signing that window and had actually started quite well implementing Koeman’s Pressing game (before Koeman had his brain fart and bought loads of slow rubbish number 10s)

I think being able to live walking distance from each other is better than being opposite ends of the M6?

Why does it matter where they are from?

Look at the balance of all successful sides over time, and look at it across Spain, Germany and Italy, too.

All successful sides have a higher % of players that have progressed with the club over 10 years.

The players play together for longer, they know each other better, they connect to fans, a team ethic, trust and also confidence builds.

These values cannot be assembled only in short term expensive acquisition.

Failure of a signing but don't have a problem with the player, was our call to buy him...etc but I don't think he is the answer to save this season

Somewhat, but that doesn't come down to where they are from, that is just a case of the players being there for a long time.

None of that applies to our club anyway as we turn on them the first chance we get.
