Papers are quoting £5m this morning!! Even I'd turn that down!!

Grant's hopes of making Yakubu his first signing have suffered a setback as Everton are demanding double the Hammers' initial offer. West Ham have had a £5 million bid turned down by Everton as manager David Moyes wants the funds from the sale to finance his move for Manchester City's Craig Bellamy. Moyes wants closer to the £11.25 million he paid Middlesbrough for Yakubu.

Bad move imo, tho im suer its all bs anyway. Even if Yaks a *cough*nigerian*cough* 27 he's still younger than Bellamy, and worth at least as much as we bought him for.

Piquionne's an interesting one, he's a poor finisher but he's always impressed me when I've seen him for Portsmouth, especially as he was upfront on his own. He's quick, leads the line well and has intelligent movement.

As for Yakubu, I hope we keep hold of him, Moyes would not get a better striker than him for 7-8 million and the Yak still has alot to offer.

His performances haven't been great at any time this season really, but, in the latter parts he started popping up with the goods, so...

...I'd wait till January on this one, 8-10 goals or you're off, Aki.

I hope the yak has a good world cup because it can only be good for us, it can up his value for a possible transfer or it will convince moyes to keep him.
