Worst team in the world

It's not that I'm happy with our current state so much as Everton being mid-table is not the worst thing that's happened to me as a supporter.

Thenfirst season I remember watching was the 97-98 season.

So it can always be worse like

How many teams have since 1995 have:

Not won anything. Or
Not finished in the top 3 of their division.


I'll be surprised if there are a lot of teams who have managed that..

I took solace in the fact im not a villa, mackem or geordie fan

I'm a German who lives in Switzerland. In Germany we have Teams like Schalke or Leverkusen, which haven't won anything for decades. But they have still one of the best fan scenes in Germany.

So the list of "successful" teams isn't that great and is very small if we don't including a cup we openly mocked when the RS were winning it.

I don't get this though, why as Evertonians do we look to that era as some sort of litmus test?

I think we should all be looking at being the best and maybe as a club we would progress. I am probably wrong but sometimes I feel like half of our fans are happy with these lows?

Same people who think Bill Kenwright is a saint because we haven't got relegated or gone into administration.

Now that these guys are gone, more likely that Everton can take that title. Still unlikely though.

The vast majority of teams win nothing

That is why weak willed glory merchants flock to the likes of United, Chelski and Citeh.

Supporting Everton has made me the resilient, cynical, and realistic man that I am today.

We mocked that cup because in 77 we got it rammed down our necks by the r/s it was a Mickey Mouse cup and when they won it we agreed it was.
