Worrying before 'it' happens

What ever stratagy they had for transfers, it hasn't worked. Infact by the looks of things it's back fired big time. An by the look of moyes on saturday, he knows it. They all have to take a bit of blame for whats happend. It's certianly not ideal way to go into a new season.

No African nations this year either....

I am not in the business of slating our manager before the season or transfer window has shut. But the rest of you, feel free.

Ok, think of it like this.

You go the pub and they raise the price of the beer by say 30p. They got rid of Sky Sports and you have to make do with the BBC match centre thing. So basically they have diluted the service but raised the price. That's what Everton have done this season.

So its not just the manager its the board too. All of those involved with the team development are responsible for giving us a diluted service but at a higher price.

Dont hold back now Ghost. You have openly questioned, well more than questioned Moyes as late. As a fair few have, which is fair enough. Fans have done it in the past and will do again.

I mean, he has the money doesnt he? Why hasnt he spent it?... We're doomed, doomed!

We'll see how the remainder of the transfer window pans out.

Hopefully he'll bring in a few quality players. I'm a half full kinda guy, naive maybe, but I would rather be like that than a doom and gloom merchant.

I'm not a doom gloom merchant. I'm not Sharpy (sorry mate), but I have heard some bad stuff, and every single player we are apparently getting from very credible sources has turned out to be non starters.

I also feel I have had good reason to question Moyes. Think about it. Why has he not signed a player? Regardless of whether or not Kenwright makes the deals, Moyes tells him who he wants. Why have we not signed a player?

Stop getting personal and grow up.

Any football fan, sorry any person with any kind of intelligence can see that we have a problem, and it has no indication of getting better soon.

We keep hearing people are signing, yet nobody does. We are hearing that deals are done, yet reports completely contradict them.

And Danny, sorry mate but we are worse off. We have 5 less players. Vaughan is banned and Cahill is still injured, plus we have now lost Pienaar for 6 weeks and Anichebe is in bloody China. How are we not worse off?

I think you completely missed what i meant so I will explain. I said you may as well basically stop supporting Everton as you already know whats going to happen as you have made your mind up that we are [Poor language removed]- understand now? Oh and dont tell me to grow up when you are one of the biggest babys on here- I saw your email to Welts about leaving....again.....:bye:

this discussion should take place after the 31st.

it looks like for now we are playing the waiting game in the transfer market the get the best possible price for the target players.

it is a risk as there are 3 games before then, but the players we have should get us through those 3 games. of course i would have liked all the targets bought before the euro's started.. that would have been ideal.

lets just see on september 1st where we are and then we can draw a line and decide where we stand then.

That is the most sensible post you have ever written.

When you coming back up North? I really think we need to chat and sort this out once and for all over a pint. Because mate, I have nothing against you, but you really really seem to hate me, and I don't know why.

----------------------Howard---------------------------

Neville----------Yobo----------Lescott----------Valente

---------------Rodwell---------Jagielka-----------------

Arteta------------------Osman-------------------Baines

------------------------Yakubu------------------------

I'm not confident that team will beat Blackburn, if we do it's going to be a real struggle. I don't agree with this in Moyes we trust bollocks either, he's not a magic man and he can only work with what he's got.

He's got a left back in midfield, a centre half in midfield, an inexperienced kid in midfield and a centre midfield trying to play as a second striker. The balance is all wrong, Yakubu and Osman have proven time and time again that they don't work well together.

I'm not worried about the transfers, In time I think they will come but it's the fact that we are completely unorganised. We knew we could pick up an injury in midfield and we'd be [Poor language removed] but we've failed to act. We have a tiny squad, lots of injuries and suspensions, no players in and the current first eleven looks a shambles.

We should be testing our new players, working out personnel and tactics and getting the team ready. Now where going to have to ease our new players in, get them ready and there will probably be alot of rotation trying to get the right blend. All this could have been done in pre-season, sadly we left it to late and to be honest it's a dangerous game.

One squad player would have done, whether he'd have come in on loan or we'd have paid 2 million or him. A backup plan incase worst comes to worst and we picked up injuries.

Blackburn are a very decent team. There physical, they play some decent stuff and they have two excellent strikers. We are in for a battle, we are playing a patched up side with a system that doesnt suit alot of our players. Im nervous to be honest, we need to get off to a good start.

I dont hate you, I take exception to being told to grow up by someone who spits the dummy out the pram every couple of weeks- Ironic?

I actually 100% agree with Teppics post lets have a chat after the 31st August and see where we are then. If we are short after this date then we really do have something to moan about.

moan, moan, moan, ghost you really are carrying the weight of the club on your shoulders, you have all the answers it seems, every thread you start goes down the same route, you obviously cant contact mr ross anymore so your hourly e-mails to him are now being posted on here instead, if someone else was posting the stuff that you are then you'd be on them straight away, sharpy isnt a doom and gloom merchant he's just tearing his hair out at the situation, but i dont see him starting endless threads that seem to be trying to turn the whole forum against the club/ board etc.
we all care deeply about the club but we are trying to get behind them as opposed to going against them, next time a rs comes in ask if you can have a sip from their optimism cup cos i think you need a little bit of it. you'll probably take the knock at what i've written but frankly i don't really care, just up your outlook and maybe you'll feel a little happier.

Why is there a witch hunt against Ghost of Dixie? The lad obviosly cares and he's not saying anything the vast majority of blues are saying and thinking.

Well that is news I didn't expect. I always thought you hated me for some reason.

But there is something not right, for the record, I have no problem with you, and if we clash due to personalities, or because of what happened last season with Teppic, then can we just not bury it and move on.

I actually don't think I spit my dummy out every other week though, and out of all the regulars here, you are the only one who seems to see it as an issue, so maybe that issue is with you, I don't know.

Of course I get angry at certain aspects of Everton, and I do walk away from the forum life. Its only because I do have a life, and forum stuff isn't the be all and end all, and it frustrates me when people can't see what's under their noses.

I do rescind some comments if I am wrong, but I wouldn't make opinions if I didn't agree with them, like you and Danny, and all the other regulars. Not many of us admit we are wrong.

So lets just put it behind us and talk about Everton.

I for one am concerned deeply about what's happening over there. But as my post yesterday highlighted, I am worried that the powers that be are not talking. I'm also worried that we have left it that late that we are not going to be able to get the quality in that we need to push on. Anyone remember Kilbane, Faddy and Jeffers coming in on the last day?

I think the problem with waiting until later on in the transfer window is that it is increasing the risk of us not getting what we want. Clubs start hiking up asking prices as they know clubs are desperate (especially if your first couple of results aren't great) and you go for your 3rd, 4th or 5th choice. We are not awash with money presumably so we need to negotiate with clubs from a position of strength (ie not right at the end of the transfer window).

The club are using the 'please be patient as we have not signed anyone because we are ensuring they are of the correct quality'. I say the lack of action will make it less likely we get what we want than if we started negotiating with teams 5 months ago.
