No point worrying yet. Saying he wants 2 or 3 may mean he is intending to use the kids more which is something Moyes never did and got moaned about. Can't then moan about Martinez doing it if he does. If we haven't signed anyone in a months time then you start worrying but until then we need to just wait and see.

I get the panic. It's going into an unknown, the comfort blanket is off and we are naked and exposed with a manager even officially in charge.

Other teams are signing players and we haven't got a manager in position yet- it's a bit scary but we need faith

What youth? Bare in mind that Barkley and stones were already in the first team squad, name youth players..

I like anichebe because he cares but if anyone thinks he will get more than ten a season is in dreamland. Not only that but he simply cannot play a full season very injury prone. If he plays more than two games in a row he looks jaded.

What is impossible to understand is how clubs like Cardiff and Southampton seem
To have far greater funds than we do yet they were in lower leagues than us not so long ago. Add to the fact we have sold players for huge amounts over the last few seasons. We will never know where it goes or what's going on with our finances so I've given up caring about it. But what I refuse to believe is that we can't secure investment. Time after time I hear bk saying he's spoken to numerous people but then nothing happens. He just doesn't want to let go of his baby. I don't believe there isn't someone out there who would not love to invest in a top six club in one of the biggest leagues in the world.

Both Cardiff and So'ton were cheap at the time of transaction, and yet have good potential.

Not anymore I firmly believe we are now above liverpool. Twice in a row we finished higher than them. In terms of how much they spend and how much we don't, we still match them

If you fix your eyes in the city of Liverpool, yes. But Internationally Liverpool still get the lion's share in terms of commercial income.

TBH they don't really need Anfield at all to be competitive.

I'm hoping Martinez will phase these lads and other youngsters in to the first team quicker than Moyes ever did. I still have the nagging doubt, "are they good enough?" though.

Is it just me or are we not looking to the future? I worry that Martinez says we need two or three players. Mucha Neville and Hitzerlsperger have gone so we need three just to replace them, and more surely as we already had a smaller squad. The team is getting old, in all areas we lack youth and I just worry when we get linked with players that are late twenties early thirties. Upsets me that Southampton who were in league one not so long ago can put 12m bids in yet we don't have a penny. Where does all our money go?

With Howard being away in the concaf cup this summer our pre season games will at the moment see a youth keeper in goal which I just worry will see us getting embarrassed by the likes of the big sides we will player in America. I would have hoped Martinez in a new job would have left espn work and instead looked to sign in time for
Pre season. The sad fact is we will probably sign 1 or 2 players and the squad will be even smaller than last season. An ageing squad that even Moyes recognised.

When I see us getting linked with players like aliadiere I worry that we will end up going back wards. We are missing the boat every season when we finish 5th and 6th because we fail to get investment and improve our squad to push for further. The fact is teams below us will soon catch us and the boat will have been missed and I worry we may end up the side we had before Moyes came.

It's so disappointing because we got so close to top four this season. Silly defeats at reading and late goals early in season cost us. One decent striker last season and I think we would have finished fourth. We are so close but we fail to take a chance and spend and soon it will be too late.
