Worried

It's a very worrying time. How could it not be when the wheels have fallen off even before they started to roll?

*worried*

I'm trying to remain positive and patient to be honest. The window hasnt even opened yet and Martinez isnt even officially in charge yet.

But you can understand why people are worried. I think we can pretty much write off baines unless he comes out himself and says he wants to stay. And we've not been linked with anyone exciting so far. Albeit Everton usually sign players who there has been no media talk about whatsoever

I'm giving it another month before I'm in meltdown tho

What youth? Bare in mind that Barkley and stones were already in the first team squad, name youth players..
Atleast three (to replace the three players who left) who can come Into our side and do well? You can't

our reserve team (basically youth) just won their league and pushed spurs (probably the best reserve team) all the way to pens. Just because moyes didn't play them doesn't mean we don't have them. Anyone could see they could offer just as much if not more to the team than players like gueye and naismith - they just weren't trusted

Wooried, worried Huh I am **** scared if we lose 2 or 3 key players and replace them with the likes of a Kone or similar "old" man.

Wewill continue to be left behind under this board kenwright is clueless and plays on the fact hes a blue and 50 % of supporters dont say nothing for this reason. He talks the talk year in year out. Also his side kick elstone is a business man and is not working for the club for nothing I.e not taking wages. As if he would he doesnt even watch the games hes also a spurs fan. So basically the board have sold everything bar the naming rights of our stadium we dont own anything. I could write on forever but I guess you get what I think of the situation by now. The new tv deal is worth millions to the club but we still dont have money to spend we are still making a loss every year BS!! I dont like that elstone never have. Hes a fony waiti g for a big payday I.e selling the club. Hence why they want 150m not 85m its probably worth if that. One final point id like to make which I dont like .. liverpool fans wouldnt stand for the **** we everton fans put up with from this board SAD but TRUE

The whole point is that we don't know who can come in and "do well" until they are given a shot. Barkley and Stones seem likely to be named in the squad, maybe even some starts. I think Lundstrum, Long, and Garbutt all have shown enough class to be in the (albeit poorly played) U21 team, not hard to see them getting a chance to make up the numbers (but not being depended on yet). Even Springthorpe or Taudul could be our backup keeper?

The whole point is that you never know what the youth will develop into if you are never willing to give them a chance to rise to the occassion. I love the fact that RM seems more likely to try it.

Yes it has.

The 1st July transfer window opening was scrapped several years back. Now it's just the day that contracts expire.

Anyone who expects to see the manager spend anything more than what he brings in from player sales hasn't been paying attention for the last fifteen years.

In fairness, there IS financial potential for this summer to be different, due to a number of factors. Wouldn't surprise me if we had a reasonable (not silly, but reasonable) amount to spend before player sales.... Equally wouldn't surprise me that much if we didn't

I'll be shocked if there ends up being a positive net spend, even with the new TV deal.

I appreciate people's optimism, but I just couldn't have any less faith in Kenwright and his mates.

It's partly to do with the new tv deal (and just as importantly, the fact of how widely publicised it's been), partly the fact that a new manager has been installed for the first time in 11 years, and even that shower on the board would have trouble justifying not giving him SOME backing, and partly the fact that (in all likelihood) all of our 4 highest wage earners are going to be off the books by September 3rd.

I was always going to be worried when Moyes left unless we got someone's of Mourinho's ilk in, and that was never going to happen.

As I said in another thread, our position is perilous in the sense that a couple of poor transfer windows would leave us in disarray. Get the wrong players in to replace the likes of Baines and Fellaini and we're left with no assets to improve what will be a mediocre squad.

The players we're linked with at the moment don't fill me with confidence, they're definitely not players who will propel us to the Champions League.
