Worried

Every season though people say oh everton bad start to season then good ending. Is this maybe because we sign players late therefore they don't have time to bed in and get a pre season behind them ready fit and fresh? Miralles prime example always injured because he didn't have a pre season. New players we sign late on who miss pre season with us and don't have a chance to bed in with the rest of the squad and by the time they get going we seem to get off to bad starts. It's common sense to sign players before pre season to give them time. Not deadline day and throwing them straight in

If you're that worried pal just don't bother with it.

Life is short and you don't need the stress.

Go do something that doesn't upset you.

Kone is not better than what we have at the moment, as anyone who is familiar with his time at Sevilla will explain - if Jelavic gets his brain fixed, and if Anichebe continues to improve, he shouldnt get near the starting XI. Redmond would be a much better signing than MacGeady as well.

As for reinforcements, personally I think aside from one position - up front where we really need to buy someone of real* quality - it would be best to start seeing whether the youth setup is worth all the praise its been getting, and start to bring those players through. This new TV money could set the club up for a generation; its essential that the mistakes of the past - spending money on ****e, living from hand-to-mouth and having to sell etc etc - twenty years arent repeated.

* ie: not Kone

Based on last season Kone performed better than Jelavic ( in a relegated team too) and is streets ahead of vic even on an off day....Redmond I can't comment on as I have never seen him play....and as for selling to buy ??? who has said we have to ? no players have been sold thus far... although I do think felli wants to leave and will do before the window is shut.

There's no rush, it's been said many times that Martinez will be back on Monday, and the players starting again at the end of the week.

We've made enquirers for two players, I'm sure the ball will start rolling whilst Martinez is back the first week.

I would expect Everton to replace who we have released, being a backup GK for definite, and depending on whether we decide to spend more on a CM. The 8/9m was never up front for Fer, so I've no clue whether that money exists or not.

Like someone said before I would start worrying on the last day if we brought in two average players, but that is 2 months away, plenty of time to do our business and prepare for the first pre-season game. We have the same first XI at this current time so I don't see any reason to panic or worry, I'm quite optimistic actually.

I was a huge fan of Moyes, but we've become far too accustomed to him and his ways.

Granted, those ways worked more often than not, and he steadied a somewhat sinking ship. What he done in the transfer market is/was far more invaluable to a club like us. That will be sorely, sorely missed.

His lack of balls, odd substitutions and somewhat dour-at-times-attitude will not.

I have the greatest of respect for him, and I'm grateful for what he done. But he felt it was his time for change. So should we. No-one is bigger than the club.

Whilst I wasn't 'all for' Martinez, I'll not get on his back before he's even met the ****ing squad, let alone applied some of his tactics to it.

As for his transfers, it's all conjecture ATM, so none of us know what's what. We all have our wants and don't wants; our needs and don't needs. We're all Champ-Man Wizards on the sly, but that counts for **** all really, doesn't it?

So let's not panic until we really have to.

But where is this happening ??? Martinez and the players are on Holiday til July 1st..you are making things up in your own head and your point is weakening with each post as you are talking utter bollox mate...don't mean that to be offensive but none of us know what is happening behind the scenes.

I like anichebe because he cares but if anyone thinks he will get more than ten a season is in dreamland. Not only that but he simply cannot play a full season very injury prone. If he plays more than two games in a row he looks jaded.

What is impossible to understand is how clubs like Cardiff and Southampton seem
To have far greater funds than we do yet they were in lower leagues than us not so long ago. Add to the fact we have sold players for huge amounts over the last few seasons. We will never know where it goes or what's going on with our finances so I've given up caring about it. But what I refuse to believe is that we can't secure investment. Time after time I hear bk saying he's spoken to numerous people but then nothing happens. He just doesn't want to let go of his baby. I don't believe there isn't someone out there who would not love to invest in a top six club in one of the biggest leagues in the world.

No not at all. Just personally don't think he was the right choice. Based on facts ie his time at Wigan. He has no money if not more than us but didn't deliver anything like Moyes did. He also said he wasn't upto bringing Wigan back into the prem. that worries me in terms of attitude. But like you say wait and see. I think any manager who came to everton was always going to have a job on competing at Moyes level. If united want your manager you know it's going to be hard to find anyone else as good to replace

I completely agree mate, it would be very difficult for any manager in the world to compete at moyes level. In fact I can't think of any who would completely bottle every pressure game they have been involved in.

why all the panic, he's not even started his job until july 1st, at this moment in time our manager is contracted to wigan same as moyes is still contracted to us. So what are people expecting when he hasn't even officially started yet?

I think you're the kind of lad who wants Martinez to fail just so you can say "I told you so"..... get behind him and the team... nothing at all has happened for you to feel as you do.

I think people like me and d4ky have grave concern and shall be understandable. Of course we will get behind Everton but to say yeah uphold the new regime, he is going to do very well for us and he is better than Moyes etc means the same as we are pointing out the potential of going downhill (that is predict of something that has not happened, yet). What is the difference? Surely, we have not kicked a ball yet but our rough conclusion will be formed at the start of the season once the new players coming in and whether both Baines and Fellaini stay. You think Kone and co. are good enough to take this club forward, we don't. Then again, just a matter of opinion.
