He knew that he had no excuses, and would look silly if he blamed his cue.

Pity John Higgins couldn't give us the dream final.

The syndicates would have loved that one.

Why such vociferous critique of Higgins (who could have been intimidated) yet a much easier ride for a few others?

He owned up didn't he, and I think he wasn't directly involved in match fixing. There'll always however be a taint to any titles he wins.

Higgins , Bingham, Zhao all hate to see them win as much as frame. Others too but they are still prominent.

When O'Sullivan and Hendry wax charm re Higgins, how do you feel?

I don't mind him, and I can't hold him to account because of that newspaper sting. I watched him in the Irish open three or four years ago and thought O'Sullivan had killed him and was wearing his skin, he played snooker from the gods. Never seen a weeks play like it. Got a taste this last week from Brecel, who was scintillating for a session. From the Gods!

I don't mind him, and I can't hold him to account because of that newspaper sting.
