The rain, it raineth every day
Guy Mowbray is doing my feckin' head in. He's feckin' useless, spouting verbal diahhorea likes it's going out of feckin' fashion. Offers no feckin' insights at all, talks absolute garbage all the feckin' time. I want to feckin' kill him. He's the worst feckin 'commentator of any sport in the history of the Universe.

Time for me tea.

And do we really need four useless pundits plus £ineker for the Engalnd Vs Wales game just to give the appearence of a 2/2 balance?... seems an absolute waste of license payers money.
I forgot to switch the commentators off then I heard one them say “ Kane was very clever there” talking about the way Kane had stolen another free kick!!

We have Martin Tyler. Mr excitement.

Meanwhile in America, Alexi Lalas had to pull back from cutting a promo on Iran and/or the Netherlands after the final whistle. Not our finest punditry moment there.

As a non English person watching the British Broadcasting Company spew out English xenophobia when Wales were still in the competition is disgusting. I have no issue with a bit of bias but to treat your license payers with contempt isn’t right. Up to last night I had no thoughts on how England would do but hopefully Senegal put them out just to wipe the smugness from the faces of pundits and commentators. It is bad when these few can turn an otherwise stoic person against an nation.

I agree with the sentiment, although it doesn't anger me. The highlighted part though is harsh as commentators are not there to offer insights.

I cannot remember who it was but there was a good point made by a commentator in an interview I listened to. He said that they are not to offer their opinions (as such), they are there to comment on what is happening and guide the analyst in to offer the insights.

The problem with modern commentary is that the commentators offer their insights and opinions, and co-commentators don't wait to be brought into the conversation.

I could not bear the jingoism of the BBC commentary last night - pure RS style tripe... "the 3 lions adorning his shirt"... "a win made in Manchester".... watched some with a foreign commentary and it was entertaining, made it more like a standard world cup game I can abstract myself from and just enjoy the footy. Will definitely be watching all England games muted/foreign commentary from now on
