The scoreline shouldn't have been so close. I was relieved when we got our third and should have put them to the sword after that.

I don't remember a time when we had so many players confident in their own ability. We played some really great stuff. Long may it continue.

Pleased with another win.
I think we’ve finally got a few footballers, players that see space and move forwards confident in others ability, players that know others are on their wavelength and the tactics (hi Sean) allow players to be braver with the ball. The team has been littered with athletes for far too long, the times they are a changin’.

Another 3 points, another away win, another game where we created and scored goals. Well in Everton

Did anyone mention that hand ball in the first half? Honestly one set of rules for us and another for the rest. Played them off the park even though we didnt play that well. Thought they got lucky.

Without being contentious I will say that this version of Moye's Everton has shown and has the potential to be a better watch than a majority of Moye's Everton the first time around. We certainly had moments of quality back then with Arteta, Peinar, Barkely and Mirales, but we also seemed to rely on effort and physicality to compensate for flashy football. Im liking the balance of this version so far:)

In his first term Moyes net spend was basically even. Year after year. Just googled and Google brought me back here to a thread where goat says Moyes net spend was 5.5m over his entire tenure.

This year we have spent over 100 million net. We are fifth in net. Above Man City (who bought and sold way more but nevertheless this is the net) and the RS. For now. Late window could change things. Still.

That’s a fairly massive difference. He used to get net 1m to spend at most. Inflation does not account for a 100 fold increase in net spend from his average year. BK never had money. Moyes never had money here. A lot of the way he had to manage and buy/sell was a necessity given we never gave him any money to spend.

I’ve lost the quote but people posted the Guardian match summary. In that the author unironically uses the phrase “school of science” to describe our play.

Don’t let @Gwladys St. Glory see that you missed out Baines mate 😉

It's remarkable getting to September and not stressing out, so many sliding doors moments over the last few seasons and we somehow came through them
Too right. Just before Z cars in my first HDS visit vs Mansfield, I had a flashback to that Pickford save from Vina in the sixth(?) minute of 10 added on during THAT Bournemouth game. And I wondered, what state would this stadium be in now if JP hadn't stopped it?

I'm glad I got to watch most of it at work because hey that was a fun match. Good goals from both clubs, we should play next week.
