Tbh I was hoping we’d be after him, Pickford is a good keeper, but Patricio is better. Still fairly young too.

Wolves will be top 10 and possibly not far off top 6 next season. Super-agent Jorge Mendes is pulling the strings, providing the funding and routing a significant group of his Portuguese players to them rather than ANO PL/Serie A/LaLiga/Bundesliga team. The FA somehow concluded Mendes wasn't involved despite everybody in world football knowing he is and here we have another Mendes player who could have gone to a top Serie A club instead joining "ambitious newly promoted Wolves" as they will henceforth be known. It is driving a coach and horses through both club and agent regulation but the authorities cannot even be arsed to pretend they are concerned because they are too busy counting the money flowing in.

It just isn't that easy.
They should stay in the premiership but will be a long way off top six. They basically bought their way out of the championship, but that won't happen in the premiership.

Its not just money they are gaining from Mendes though. Wolves are getting first dibs on all of his mid-level clients despite being in the Championship until now.

We should definitely be wary of Wolves overtaking us in the future.

100% this, if us and Wolves both go in for a Mendes client they have an advantage unless we offer daft money.

Until we get the new stadium and hopefully a future big money takeover we have to keep investing money but I fear Moshiri will no longer be doing this and there is the threat of falling behind.
