Thought he did ok, Portugal seemed to be playing a system that protected the space rather than a high pressing game, didnt show much but did his job.
Not sure if i would go mad to buy him if we are going to play a different way, then again the manager knows him so must know his skill set better than me.

Exactly, loads on here slagged off Barry all the time but look what happened to our midfield once he left
I understand the comparison between the two, yet it naively ignores the fact that Barry had nigh on ten years on him and hundreds more games.

Don't get me wrong, he's clearly comfortable on the ball and has an eye for the pass, but his lack of tenacity and ambling around is a concern.

Put simply, Barry physically couldn't get around the pitch as well as others but he made up for it in other areas; I think this is more attitude.

The Premier League is a quick paced, physical league and if a player is either unwilling or unable to meet this demand, he is easily swallowed up.

Look at the criticism the likes of Klaassen has received for not being able to meet the tempo, even though he's technically a good player.

That's not saying I don't think he'd improve us (he would) as he's clearly got talent, but rather a worry about if he'd fully meet the demands.

Thought I had sat on the pause button on my remote control for the first 25 mins. Didn't see him moving.

Lol at Everton fans saying he’s poor and not good enough.

Bloke was playing against Spain - a very good side and has won a European championship.

Yes let’s stick with Davies giving the ball to the opposition every single time instead.

Do a bit of research mate, the way he plays yesterday is exactly the same in all his games this season regardless who the opposition is.

That’s not quite right. He wasn’t fast but he consistently covered more ground than any other player during a game. He defo finished one premier league season covering more than any other in the league.

At last someone on here with a good insight into footie tactics.

You can’t high press against Spain as they would simply destroy you.

Thought he did just fine. I will be watching him throughout the tournament before I cast my final verdict.
