Will we be attracting investment with current form?

Theirs no such thing is "investment" in football at least not to what we all want.

kenwright uses term investment not takeover as he doesnt want to sell, by searching for investment he knows he'll draw a blank as no billionaire is gonna invest in a club millions and not own it.

Liverpool
villa
chelsea
Man city
Newcastle
Sunderland
Southampton

all clubs TAKEN OVER not invested in
As I've posted, we've been invested in to the tune of 240 million in 7 years.

I would say Lerner wanted Martinez as Villa manager 2 years ago but got turned down. I am not anti-Kenwright or anything btw.
Exactly. Lerner was not able to 'sell' the Villa 'dream' to Martinez, neither were the RS Americans.. Successive managers have now come to Everton after talking to BK. Incidentally...Neither Everton or Newcastle have been sold despite 'reported' price tags of considerably less than the £200 million Lerner seems to want for Villa, who would seem to require considerably more investment in the team. Nice attempt at profiteering by Lerner, and I would fear for Villa if another non football outfit took Lerners bait. Presumably the price includes repayment of Lerners loans to Villa...I doubt they'll be written off.
Its also the norm for media reports that give the usual suspects a chance to be negative about Everton or BK are believed without question, but for positive reports about Everton always being said to be 'Bill controlling the media' . Strange, isn't it?

On the Villa takeover for 200m I found this amusing fan write up

"one half of the consortium might be Larry Ellison, a California based businessman who has apparently been pictured attending a match at Villa Park this season. He is the co-founder of Oracle and has been listed as the third wealthiest man in the United States. His net worth is said to be around $49 billion, which is certainly not to be sniffed at."

My first thought when I first heard about this new rumour was that it seemed like a big PR push by the club to get fans excited about next season. By doing this, they’d be hoping that more people would buy or renew season tickets for next season"

Would be good for Villa overall but i do wonder about the validity overall, i remember BBC links linking us with the Mittal family at one time. Learner is a bad carpet bagger who has Villa on their knees, he takes about 10 mill out of the club in loan repayments every year and pretty much sold every quality player they had.

I posted about this on tuesday. I went on a villa forum to see why the coaches had been suspended. The itk who had broken the news of the suspension long before it was announced also had a thread saying that a takeover had been finalised on the basis of villa staying up. Lambert was to be replaced by a top manager also. Seems the papers have noticed this fella got the suspensions right and are now reporting the takeover.

Don,t we pay a spurs fan who never turns up at the game millions to give us loans while he never sinks a penny into the club?

You would NEVER see the the Liverpool Echo running a story like this about Bill would you, not in a million years.

Learner is brilliant mate, he has the whole world believing hes a great owner who has been hard done by bad managers - truth being he takes 15% of their revenue out of the club in Interest on the loans/money he has given them - that what he charges on loans not the loan repayments themselves. I find that extrodinary given his favourable media profile. Thankfully i dont think an Everton owner would get away with it.

See this article towards the end under the picture of stars in their eyes, he runs Villa the same way as he runs MBNA and they love him for it. Bad carpet bagger - but in a way admirable that he hasnt been cottoned onto.

My point was more that at least the local media have the balls to write it and print it on behalf of the fanbase. John Thompson at the echo has stood by for 14 years and done nothing after all the infrastructure failures, selling players on the eve of the transfer window and not finding owners after 14 years.

He has converted his loans to the club into shares.
