Will Jelavic's 2012/13 surpass Yakubu's 2007/08?

i think 20+ goals this season, his first touch, the way he drops back to lose his markers before running in to smash it in, hard to knock off the ball, his heading ability he is the whole package , easy 20+ goals and will finish evertons top striker ever in the premier.
nailed on

I voted yes, but i'll be happy with 15 and others like Pienaar, Naismith or Felli scoring 5-10 goals, but if he scores 20+ we'll be fourth ahead of Spurs,Arsenal and red scum.

I think he's a lot better than the Yak in that season, he's just an absolute natural goalscorer. He got 1 or 2 at the euros too

I'm gonna say YES! I think he'll knock in 24 for us in total.

I think he'll have a slow start, then begin finding his feet around late Sept/early Oct and bang 'em in. I'll also suggest he'll have a barren spell around New Year then pick up the pace again sometime in Feb. Finishing strongly.

One thing to consider is yes defenders will be more aware of him, but it was his one touch finishing that blew everyone away last year and I doubt he's lost that ability. You can defend all you like and if (given the opportunity) a defender can push him wide or turn him around, then maybe they'll prevent him from knocking a few in, but if he's facing goal - he only needs to get a shot away!

From pointing Pip, Rodwell and Gibson. hmmmmm

No, Pienaar, Baines, Fellaini, Gibbson, Osman, Naismith and Jelavic himself are all more than capable of making goals through the centre. It doesn't have to go down our left side every time.

Problem is he is a target now. He isn't going to surprise teams now, and other team's defences will be training according to Jelavic when it comes to games against Everton.

He doesn't really have the "whole" package, he just does what he does very well. But he isn't that complex as a player, I don't think. He will always get goals, but an easy 20+ is a massive achievement.

I'm going to say he gets between 15-20. He's not going to sneak up on anyone like last year so it will be a bit tougher for him. IMO despite only playing 1/2 a season he was my POY and the player we absolutely cannot lose to injury.

To pick up the slack I'm think Fellani is going to get 10-15 goals. He hit the post and was so close an absurd amount last season. He's overdue for some luck at the goal scoring end this year.
