Will Everton EVER win the Premier League??

10 years ago Man City fans were probably thinking the same thing, we will eventually, we've gone through barren spells like this in our history before, have faith!

Yeah.

When all the money men in the game get bored and walk away we'll beat Burnley to the Premierleague title in 2038 as Kenwrong gets clapped on the big screen.

In your lifetime.

Short of a major miracle it ain't going to happen. So I start thinking this footy lark is a foregone conclusion.

Is the playing field so uneven that a few good wins against the Sky6 and a cup win is the best we can hope for??

It's like winning the crap prizes on those 2p coin machines at the sea side. We're pumping 2p's in and only getting the same fall out the bottom just to put back in and some crap toy cars along the way. All in that epic quest to push that £20 note off the edge when really deep down you know it's glued down.

Are we all secretly pretending we're waiting for something to give.

Is it really all over?

TALK TO ME.

Best quotes I've read on here in a long time, sums us up perfectly

IMO two things need to happen.

We'd need a board to come in that's got real vision and acumen and the resources to back their own judgement. Bill's not a young man and Everton are the only historic giant of the English game not to be bought and developed. If we get lucky with the ownership lottery that would give us a chance.

The second thing would be for us to find a manager who is a genuine top of the shop operator. I'm talking about a Wenger, Mourinho, Guardiola type fella. FFP means just buying the league wouldn't be possible for us unless we got took over now. We'd need a supreme motivator with a good eye for talent and great tactical awareness as we would be playing catch up.

No disrespect to Moyes, but he falls a bit short of that category IMO. I still think one great man can completely change the future of a Football club, I also believe the next one of these great managers is out there somewhere.

So YES, just highly unlikely in the short term.

It is frustrating though, because you see City having to spend about 500m quid to win the league, then you see the shite spending god knows how much in their efforts to stay in the Premier League, whilst knowing that we would not need half of either of those amounts to become competitive.

We just need a group that is capable of even just some investment at all, the current strategy being employed by Kenwright will get us nowhere.

Everton can win any game they ever play in the Premier League. We've pretty much beaten every side in the last three seasons, except Arsenal.

So what's to say Everton couldn't win it?

Because everton are only competitive over 10-12 games a season due to the depth of the squad, plus at the first sign of pressure the manager and players bottle it.

Unfortunately we need lots of Money to win but I am never going to say never because some billionaire might come knocking on the door next week who knows.....

3 things can happen

The arse end falls out of football and we reap the benefits of a having a very good base of solid professionals.

OR

We get lucky and find one of the good eggs that are also billionaires.

OR

We have a very good season and actually qualify for the champions league, do a decent enough job and use that money wisely in both the team and ground and stay consistent for a few years building up the team, brand and money making opportunities within the stadium.

The last option may take 5 years, 10 years or 20 but how sweet would it be when it happens (not if :))

Keeping a very small squad fit. We have a very good first 11, but we don't have a squad to maintain a title challenge.

I've gone for yes. More out of hope than expectation.

As others have said, money is the big thing and unless we either get taken over or something big (perhaps a salary cap) happens then It just won't happen I don't think.

I do think a salary cap is inevitable though, it's just a matter of time and to what extent.
