Wigan in Administration

I wish them the best. I hope that they come through this awful period. I honestly hope that the Premier League will help smooth the financial worries of those lower down the footballing pyramid in the short term. It's a huge concern now, but long term, hopefully it leads to clubs being run more sensibly with the ability to look after their futures and any other major disruptions.

Not a chance, they care about their product, and that's it, same with Sky, any interest in the leagues below detracts from the all conquering EPL. Every fan that gives up on their local team to worship a PL cash cow is a win for them.

Such a shame. Won't be the last either sadly. One thing I don't understand is that if they avoid relegation, then the 12 point penalty will be this season. If they go down, it will be from the start of next season. So if they were deducted those points this season, potentially would that send them down if they were to fall into the bottom 3? Screwed either way to a point.

We were told that Project Restart was vital in coming back to aid teams in the lower league's surviving tough times.

I didn't particularly believe it. We shall see.

The Premier League and the FA have plenty of money to aid those teams in genuine difficulties through no fault of their own.

I think it would suit clubs in the top two divisions to have less competition from the lower league's. Never too far away from the big money of the Premier League. I wondered whether that was a convincing factor teams facing relegation agreeing to the restart, short term loss aided with parachute payments. Hopefully I'm wrong.

EFL should at least be a little culpable.

Their new owner bought them 2-3 months ago, how did they pass their Fit and Proper test?

Sham.

Very interesting series of tweets for anyone on Twitter but seems to implicate a Darren royle. Isn’t that big Joe’s son?
