Wigan in Administration

Martinez started that ball rolling when he took them down

I always wonder how they feel about him. I mean they were destined to go down regardless of who was in charge, they've spent most of their life in the lower leagues. He won them a major trophy they'd never in their dreams thought would be possible, nobody can take that great day away from their fans.

I wonder if we could give them 5M for Robinson and sell for 20M to Milan like it was supposed to happen before his heart condition..

Not good this, reckon a few more clubs will be hit

Wigan Athletic have gone into administration, becoming the first English professional club to do so since the coronavirus pandemic.

The club has been struggling to manage its finances and have been left with no alternative other than to take action to try to safeguard the club.

The move may see the Championship side handed a 12-point deduction.

Paul Stanley, Gerald Krasner and Dean Watson of Begbies Traynor have been appointed as joint administrators.
This points deduction, pre covid I sort of see the point - to stop the 'frivolous' use of Administration.
But just as FFP is relaxed so should the -12 deduction.
I fear bigger than them may fall by the way side

Weren't they taken over a month or so a go?

Assume calculated but whoever approved the takeover as fit and proper needs binning.

Yeah, without a doubt something massively stinks about that. Moved between two Hong Kong based investors, and for some reason I don't think a mid table North West Championship club is what they actually wanted
