Wigan is a place I never want to visit....and when I do I like to leave as quickly as possible...dunno why.

No offence to any Wigtorians who are on the site

We know our history, are happy to tell everyone that fact, yet dont know others.

we do know wigan's history and it involves very little. Got smashed in their one final of recent memory and they came up with ellington and roberts up front.

There you go, I am sure this will change many peoples mind to ridicule them. As somebody siad it is a shame for Whelan that as soon as he is gone they are likely to fall straight back down and possibly further. There just isn't the desire from the people of Wigan to make the football club bigger.

And the rugby season has started, so the square ball lovers (half their fans probably)
would rather watch that.

They dont do both, in fact they absolutely detest each other.

couple of years ago, final day of season, home to West Ham who had been relegated and turned up en masse for a party and kick off. As West Ham arrived they encountered pitched battles BETWEEN the Rugby & Footy lads as the rugby lot were leaving on coaches to an away game. A WH Fan told me that it was a proper kick off as well and theyd have been made up if theyd got that kind of action.

I hope we batter them anyway, their fans don't deserve Wembley.

Hate attitudes like this.

They're a far smaller club than us with far fewer fans. Doesn't mean the ones that do turn up are any less deserving than us.

Is it their fans fault they're a small club? I say credit to them for actually following their local team rather than picking the easy option of United/City/Everton/Liverpool.

Wigan is a nice and easily accessible away game, so I hope they stay up, hope we smash them in 6th round though.

to be fair, if it was a choice between watching wigan athletic or wigan warriors then i think i would plump for the warriors everytime
