5th in the league, two defeats all season.

We've achieved very little alright.

I do find that you reply to people's opinion in a very condescending/sarcastic a lot of the time.

It's your prerogative however it doesn't seem warranted to me. Each to their own.

To be fair to Brennan, his point is valid. Irrespective of whether or not he comes across as condescending or not.

If he insists on playing Osman can't it be for Mirallas?

Once in possession does Jags have to pass to Coleman, who will pas it back to Jags, who will give it to Distin, who will pass to Coleman, Who will pas to Jags...........

When Lukaku's strength seems to be over the top to run at defenders do we push it out to Coleman, who passes to Jags...........

I do like a passing team but Most of the time we overplay and achieve very little.

And now my Xmas has bee ruined by Osman and Howard... Why couldn't Howard just let it in, easier to come back from one down than one down and a man down.

All in all a **** day................

We're having are best season in years and one result makes you want us to start playing long ball again? Have a word mate

Too many people had too many shandys......the over-reaction to a very unlucky defeat is laughable.

+1

You can't win them all and we sure went down fighting even with ten men.

The only thing which makes me mad is, as others have said, the sheer stupidity of Timmy, our most improved player of the year IMO, in compounding the error by committing a foul, or making a challenge which could have been construed as a foul, which as a professional he knew would have led to his dismissal.

Better he had let the lid score.

I agree, further I often share his opinion on a lot. Just feel the delivery is unnecessary in its format.

As I say, each to their own.

On topic, we lost and it hurts due to the brilliance of our team this term. I'm hoping to see us bounce back with a vengeance on Sunday.

For those that did not read the thread properly I have never mentioned once that we should refer to hoofball, I just believe that the constant passing between Coleman to jags to Distin to jags to Coleman to Howard will inevitably end in making mistakes as proven today. Whilst none where directly involved we invite teams to close us down by overplaying at the back.

All in all I was impressed with our display today and my suggestion was a long ball is an alternative to mix up play and give the defense something else to think about instead of Jags to Coleman to Distin to Howard to jags to Coleman to Distin to jags to Howard to Coleman....................

Calm down lad.

We're playing some beautiful football and it's a joy to go to Goody Park these days. Sh^te result today and mistakes were made but look at where we are, both in the table and the way we're playing. Can you honestly say before we kicked a ball this season that we'd have only lost two games and would be sat in fifth place ?

Spot f*****g on mate!

People need to wise up and get a grip of themselves.

Osman and Howard ruined your Christmas?

Come on mate, that's not good. I'm gutted too. So is Osman, and so is Howard.

Because he's terrified Barkleys heads gonna be turned ive thought this all for a while now, with RM's constant "he's not ready for England yet" talk and the media hype around him I think he is genuinely worried about Barkleys head being turned and wanting to leave ala Rooney. Lukaku looks alot more tired and in need of a rest yet he isn't rested so why a lad in great form who doesn't even look tired? on not just one occasion either Crystal Palace and Spurs aswell in which we have picked up just 2 points in those 3 games 2 of these being teams sat in 20th place, not good enough and he needs pulling up on it.

Are you aware that both Barkley & Barry are on 4 yellow cards before this match? Martinez's original plan probably should be to avoid the risk of lossing both Barkley & Barry at the Southampton match through the fifth yellow. Unfortunately it didn't work according to plan, but thankfully Barkley didn't pick up another yellow (but Barry did). Retrospectively you may claim this planning was totally unnecesassary, but one never know for sure.
