Anyone who tries to isolate these attitudes just to football fans is deluded, it's rampant everywhere in all organisations in the countrt
No they haven't. Racists will always act like racists when it suits them. The only connection between those two votes and a potential rise in racism is that because of them, people now look far closer at every insult and overthink it. A lot of the time such inspection is warranted and very much justified but often it's well OTT and leads to people thinking that racism is in places, comments and even arguments were it simpley wasn't.Trump and Brexit have given racism a sort of respectability.
You're not wrong about bruv.Certain clubs have more imbeciles than others but that is the same for society as a whole.
I don't think racism is on the increase in football to any meaningful degree.

In the smoke Spurs and Woolwich have almost zero racist element while West Ham and Chelsea have more. But I would suggest even that is neligible.
That whole banana skin incident of ours was blown out of all proportion, exacerbated by social media Warriors (guilty until proven innocent). People actually seemed desperate for it to be 'racist' even after the police said it wasn't.

Anyone who has committed racist acts post Bexit/Trump were already racists and are always on the lookout for fresh excuses. If it wasn't Brexit/Trump it would of been somthing else. We can't stop having perfectly legitimate discussions on things like immigration because of how racists might abuse the situation. Let's start giving harsher punishments out to racists if we want to stamp it out or at least make a start in doing so. It's the lack of real punishments that gives them the green light to behave this way. It’s clear you disagree but think it’s hard to argue that people feel more free to say things now , more normalised. There is a reason the RS had those incidents increase after Suárez because racists felt they were preaching to the choir . People have heard others talk about immigration and foreigners and see it as a green light to let it out .

i undertand mate but people like that will always find and excuse to say whats on their mind and generally feel it's ok to do so. If it wasn't Brexit/Trump they'd just latch onto somthing else as their excuse and be just as loud about it.I didn’t say they weren’t mate , i said they feel the environment is more friendly for them to voice their opinions . I don’t think Brexit and trump have made people racist I think it’s meant racists feel it’s ok to say what they think .
