Why have America never produced a world class football player ?

And interest. And better academies in the US that develop the players enough to draw interest from clubs abroad.
It helps, but I doubt someone could stay in the US academies and MLS until 23 and then move to Europe and make it. I think that is the next step but I'm not sure it is possible unless MLS starts spending like a big league.

At any rate we will have a world class player within ten years. I'm pretty confident about that.

They've produced a number of solid to high quality players, but world class is a tough one. Having said that, despite being the 'home' of football have England produced that many world class players?
You guys don't give yourselves enough credit. Sancho is on the brink right now. There is an argument for Sterling and Alexander-Arnold. Kane was at his peak two or so years ago. Rooney obviously. Ferdinand, Scholes, Terry, Lampard, Gerrard. I know it hasn't meant anything on the international stage but at club level they were all at the top of the game.

Oh yeah, absolutely we have produced some top class talent, but in the context of how well established the game is over here the numbers aren't that high. But should they be? World class players are just that - absolute top of the tree rarities. Arguably the US has produced a healthy quota of excellent players, particularly given the relative late development of the game and its popularity.

Forgot to say .... ITS FOOTBALL NOT SOCCER FFS

Also football isn’t played with your hands... the clue is most deffo in the name

Alexander Arnold world class ... hahahahahahahahahahahahaha

I hate myself for typing that but... who is actually a better RB? Kimmich when he plays there and? I like Hakimi a lot, but that isn't cut and dry.
He’s a quality wing back I agree, as a defender he has been found wanting on many occasions. Any skilful player with pace running at him causes him problems as he can’t defend properly. Maybe this side of his game will develop over time but right now there have been lots of games where he has been roasted.

Who do you think it will be?
