Why do people want Duncan Ferguson to replace Silva?

Do people really think he's going to be like SAF and intimidate the players into winning?

I don't even think SAF would get this pathetic group of players motivated as unfortunately we're now in an era where you cannot hurt peoples feelings and the players seemingly have all the power and can get managers fired by simply downing tools and not giving a [Poor language removed] about the fans or the club so long as they get their way

I’d forgot about big dunc.

Although he has been part and parcel of the previous regimes that have failed. I think he is too close to it all to be able to make any impact now.

Chelsea and Man United are both major examples of that, and Leicester as well when they got bored of Ranieri, they downed tools. It's disgusting. Players shouldn't do that to the fans, no matter what they think of the manager.

I don't think all of our players DGAF about the club or fans, Coleman clearly does care, same with Jags. It's just a shame they're past it.

On a similar note, no, I do not want Tim Cahill managing us, I don't care how much he loves the club. Arteta at least has experience coaching. Timmy C doesn't.

Yes, I know, Facebook is full of idiots but during Silva's post-match interview, I noticed commenters saying Ferguson should replace him, and his name always comes up whenever we have a crap manager. Why? Do people really think he's going to be like SAF and intimidate the players into winning? He's been under four managers, five if you count Unsworth, all of whom have failed, and if he's such great manager material, how come he never got asked to be caretaker like Unsworth did?
Because people think 'bein ard will do the trick. As football is now that is a no go. When he proves he can coach a striker he could then move on to manage Chester or whatever and take it from there.

I get that but I see that as a positive. No baggage. The hunger of these ambitious young managers can't be underestimated. I'll never get over the half arsed attitude of Koeman who acted like it was an enormous chore to be our manager.

Stuff like that matters now. The most important role for a manager is no longer tactical. They have a backroom staff who help with that. The key thing is mentality and making players believe and enjoy their football. We live in an age where players are mentally weak and shirk responsibility. A manager needs to make players believe firstly in themselves and make them run through walls. The youth and freshness is the way forward.

I don't want an experienced manager. We've tried that. It doesn't suit us.
Your assumptions about the role of the manager are imagined I am afraid.

I’ve not seen anyone who does suggest that.

If Ferguson is employed primarily as the coach with responsibility for the forwards, that suggests the goal return or lack of is in some way down to him and his inability to improve the players under his tutorage.
Can't do the job entrusted to him and yet we keep him on - very questionable decision making by those responsible.

Do we know exactly what Duncans job is? He sits pretty close to Silva in the dug out.
