Whose fault - Howard, Osman -- or Martinez?

Osman for me. Howard just did the usual goalkeeper thing of panicking.

If Martinez did leave Barkley out because he was on 4 yellows then I agree with that to an extent. We really should be killing off Sunderland without him anyway, but as Barry will be suspended for the next game it'd be much worse if we were without Barkley too.

If we sacrifice a goal or two this season by trying to play the game as it should be instead of drivin' it 40 yards like we did for the past 20 years...that's fine with me. Keep her lit Bobby!

Exactly, what's all this blaming stuff? It's that kind of thinking that has caused so many English teams to play long ball football over the years. You can't have players running scared that they're going to be pounced on if they make a mistake. They will happen, it's inevitable, be it in life or in football, but especially so when you're trying something more difficult.

I'm sure the players will learn from the match yesterday, but the last thing we want them to do is retreat into their shell and resort back to long-ball stuff.

I'm not into the idea of Barkley sharing the cam role with Osman, i agree with Martinez if he believes it will benefit Barkley leaving him out, but i don't agree with it if it just to fit Osman in.

both osman poor control and not making an effort to get back at the player, howard for making the pass in the first place he unlike osman can see who is were on the pitch and why the foul,0-1 with 11 on the pitch is better odds. just have to learn and move on

This, but mainly Osman for making himself available when the sunderland player was closing him down

Osman fumbled it but why do goalies go to ground in these situations? It always ends the same way - penalty and red card.

Stay on your feet, run hard at him and put in a block tackle. If the forward has the skill and poise to evade you and score, fair enough, but he often won't.

... he's the worst player every time he's on the pitch mate. Of course it'd have been different if it were somebody else. He deserves every piece of criticism he gets. He's an embarrassment to the shirt.

He's not half the embarrassment to the shirt as you are an embarrassment to this forum.
