Martinez has mentioned Jags is out for 8-9 weeks, so we can assume he's out for a lot longer (albeit we will be told for months that "he is progressing phenomenally well and ahead of schedule"). Given Martinez's rigidity/stubbornness, I suspect Howard will get the armband and, if Robles plays an absolute blinder on Tuesday, Howard being made captain is even more assured.

I think it'll be Howard long term considering the clown got the armband on Saturday even with Barry on the pitch, but with none of them three playing tomorrow I'd give it to McCarthy. Reckon one of Naismith or Osman will play though and they'll get it, think he wants experience in a captain to set an example to younger players.

Osman is vice captain but shouldn't be playing, Howard seems to be third choice and isn't playing and Barry is the next logical choice but is suspended! Personally I'd give it to Stones or even Barkley just for one game because he'd love it (then Barry next match hopefully) but don't be surprised to see Naismith wearing it tomorrow... Does a lot for charity and runs his socks off y'know?
