For the 8-9 weeks (lol yeh right) he's out it's going to be Howard with the armband and if he's not playing Barry but I'd like Stones to wear it to be honest. He's not exactly captain material now but if we want to show him Everton want him to stay forever and captain the side, why not give him a short spell with the band on?

Definitely not Ross. He feels the pressure too much. Would like to see how it affects McCarthy, so a Cup tie would be a great place to test him. Baines (upon return), Barry, Osman, and Howard seem the likely candidates, but Coleman has captained ROI so he could do the job also. Stones and Lukaku would make interesting choices.

Coleman deserves it far more than some of the shouts on here. What has Lukaku done to be Everton captain? Or McCarthy? They've been here about 5 minutes. Hopefully Osman is playing, if not then in Jags' absence Baines will hopefully return at some point. If all these players are out it should be Coleman.

McCarthy needs to start worrying about his own performance let alone anyone else's.

I voted Stones .. but then saw the love for Rom.

I think he's shown a lot more heart and desire this season than he did last and seems to be buying into the 'Everton family', being a former CF I'm not convinced that CF is the best position from which to skipper. I like the idea of a CF being skipper or a dominant midfielder, in which case Barry.

In a year's time I'd throw Galloway's name in the hat if asked the same question.
