Who would you buy from potential relegation clubs?

Always hard to tell if a relegated player is a piece of sweet corn in a massive turd or turd themselves. He’ll more than often a player is just bang average but their crap teammates make them look great by comparison.

I hope I am not tempting fate here but I think/hope we are pretty much safe now.

With that, my thought turned to a serious rebuild job in the summer and I think we need to get rid of some deadwood but I also think we need to recruit some players who know the PL and are willing to show some spirit and fight.

Time and again we have seen higher up teams cherry pick from relegated teams, not least from the RS.

Going solely off the current table, I think the teams we could look at are:

1. Brighton
2. Bournemouth
3. Villa
4. West Ham
5. Watford
6. Norwich

Who would you look to take from these teams if they went down?

Personally, I think Norwich, Bournemouth will go down with the remaining place being between Villa and Brighton, leaning towards Brighton.

If i were to pick 3 players from these teams, I would go for:

1. David Brooks (Bournemouth)
2. Max Arrons (Norwich)
3. Trossard (Brighton)

Besides that I'd look to take Aaron Ramsdale as a GK that would challenge Pickford but there's also players like Dunk, Fraser (out of contract but Arsenal strongly linked) and Ake (still probably overprices even with relegation).

Who would everyone else's top 3 be?

Sigurdson and Pickford did not work out so good, so I'm going with nobody.

Yeah, Tim Cahill would for instance, all 178cm of him, and he'd often beat much taller defenders to the ball so he could score using his head

Therefore, height isn't all important

Buying from relegation candidates is the MO that got us Siggy and Pickford .

Other teams have shown that buying from relegated teams can be a good option. I think it's more preferable than buying the cast offs from the CL clubs. Reality is that the right player is the right player. No matter where they come from. Just think players from relegated teams can be gettable and can fly under the radar somewhat.

A player I'd go after is Emi Buendia. Think you could probably get him for somewhere around 40M. Would be really good in any midfield and I'd expect a lot of clubs to be after him. Might be difficult to get but he'd be a very good signing. Norwich also have 2 good full backs who would be useful. Particularly Aarons given he's a right back. If Carlo likes Jonjoe Kenny though and what's he's done that Schalke then Aarons might not be worth the investment.

If Brighton go down then I'd look at Adam Webster and Neal Mapuay.

Villa have a few players I'd take a look at. Getting Grealish feels a bit like a pipe dream. He's going to a Top 6 club. I like John McGinn. Think Villa have really struggled without him. Tyronne Mings might be useful.

I don't think Bournemouth will go down but I'd be taking a look at Ryan Fraser. Think he'll probably end up at Arsenal but given their change in manger that might not be nailed on now. Think he's out of contract as well.

Watford have a few decent players but age might be restrictive. Sarr is an option but likely to be a very high price given what Watford paid for him.
