Who the heck are we going to pick as centre halves on sunday?

Keane and holgate Becuase no other choices and because jageilka and the loon Williams should no longer get a game like ever.
Agree with this if holgate is fit. Whatever we do we need to give the cbs a run of games to try find some form. This chopping and changing isn't helping. Not making excuses for them, they've all been Sunday league.

Jags, Keane, Baines, JonJoe is our best four, but it's not a good four for certain.

We are seriously look at a significant outlay for CB and LB in the window. Unfortunately, there will likely not be any EPL elite level CB available or we will have to pay out the nose for one.

The only saving grace is its a World Cup year. So anybody on the fringes of a "big" club may be looking to get some game time.

I suppose one of the difficult things for our defence is getting any practice in during the week given how easy it must be for them to play against our attack in training.

In fact it would be interesting who comes out on top in that battle. I dread to think how bad it must be.

I would pick keane and Holgate or even Morgan. Why pick Jags OR Williams. Give us a pairing of younger players and give them a few games to gel come what may. Give Jonjoe the right back spot and we may have to stick with baines but lets play a settled back 4 without Jags. Funes Mori might just save our season.

I think we need to play 3 at the back with 3 holding mids for cover, lol sounds mad but honestly while the confidence is so low it might be the only way to stop conceeding. Holgate, Keane and Jags with Gueye, Davies and Besic or Schniederlin in front with 2 wing backs Lennon and Baines maybe and 2 up top or 1 up top and a CAM. I think it's the only way we can tighten up and if we do that confidence will grow and form will improve.

Baines is an absolute shadow of his former self yet also undroppable due to having nobody else.

What a ridiculous position we find ourselves in.
Lennon at left wing back would be good to see I think. He's defensively been good, offers for the ball going forward and has a pace/directness that baines has completely lost. I'd like to see us go:

Pickford
Kenny holgate Keane Lennon
Gana beningime
Mirallas sigurdsson vlasic
Dcl

With Williams confined to the stands. Bit of directness down the flanks get balls into the box and do the frigging basics.

Any manager will say you can't score yourself out of the situation we're in. If Unsworth can do anything for the next two days it's organising a defensive unit that at least pretends to have some sort of idea what they're doing.

Forget all the crap about being on the front foot that he keeps trying to palm off to impress the fans. Get realistic and try to grind out some results.

Look at the defenders he’s got to work with though. If our game plan involves keeping a clean sheet then what hope do we have?
