Realistically in January the only players we could afford to get rid of would be McGeady and Pienaar. Both have contributed next to nothing for a while now.

As much as I would like to see us get rid of Osman, Naismith, Hibbert, Gibson and Oviedo eventually replacing them with better, we can't afford to at the minute.

Besic is a good player and I think had Barry not got back to his best he would have been more involved this season.

Not a chance we should even contemplate getting rid of Baines and Stones, 2 of our best players.

Pienaar been gone that long I forgot about him.

The thread is about the future, Howard must stay in January but after that well he is aging fast. As for Baines and Stones I think that offers will land, will we accept them is the question as they are both top players

I don't know why anyone would want to get rid of Baines. He's our most consistent player, plus with his age we wouldn't get anywhere near as much as he's worth. The lad is class.

Stones is our biggest potential, a 50 mil plus bid would be tempting but personally I think we should keep hold of him at all costs. His value will only increase before it decreases.

Just say for instance our preferred first XI is as follows:

Howard, Coleman, Baines, Stones, Jagielka, Barry, McCarthy, Del, Cleverley, Barkley and Lukaku.

That leaves

Robles, Browning, Hibbert, Galloway, Mori, Garbutt, Gibson, Besic, Oviedo, Lennon, McGeady, Peinaar, Naismith, Osman, Mirallas, Kone who don't get a start.

Don't think we have ever seen a squad that deep before at Everton. And that's without any more U21's coming through over the next 8 months!

There are obvious choices to offload, but probably better at the end of the season. There is enough quality in that back up group of players to be decent enough this season.

McGeady , Pienaar and possibly Oviedo .... but that all depends on players coming in , especially in Oviedo's case.

McGeady and Pienaar have had their day and IMO should be moved on

The only one on that list I'd actively and willingly dispense with is McGeady.

Edit; he's he only one in the squad I'd chase off
