I didn't say it was everything but they do matter enough that you have to have a certain level of ability or you're screwed.
Only if the aim is to win trophies or get top 6. The state we were (are) in, I just wanted our matches to be fun to watch again, to
feel something.
Allardyce had tactics up to his eyeballs...was that enjoyable? We had one of the best coaches in the world in Ancelotti...didn't do us much good.
Happy with finishing 15th if we have some barnstorming games on the way. Dunc was certainly capable of getting his players riled up to over-perform, which would've surely given us some memorable moments to thrill about.
Then there's the question of
identity: if all our players & managers ostensibly have no history with our club, just see it as a job before moving on...then where is the motivation for fans to feel a sense of identity with them?
This club is depressed, and the managerial/player merry-go-round hasn't been the answer. Dunc's brief caretaking had the fans feeling alive again...what a wasted opportunity!
