Who should replace Frank Lampard?

We need to actually decide what the criteria for the role is:

- disjointed squad with a mixture of players
- struggling league position
- limited funds to work with
- possibly some decent youngsters coming through the ranks
- Interfering from boardroom level (this may suit a more experienced head who knows how to deal with these situations)
- demanding crowd who are very, very fed up of the last few years

I think we need someone who is tactically flexible and can get the best out of our mishmash of a squad whilst it's changing and someone who is possibly able to deal with and tell those upstairs a few home truths.
A years or 6 month rolling contract.....just in case.

Quite possibly mate.

I thought with the support team Lampard had around him and the mini unbeaten run at the start of the season that we were on the turn. Unfortunately things have turned very quickly, but in the opposite direction, and it seems we are again, in a mess.

We could have scored a few yday but we didn’t and lost a must win home game against the bottom team in the league. I think a better manager could get a turn out of the players. As bad as they might be they’re no worse than quite a few other teams in the league. What do I know? But I needed to vent!

Until we get some capable forward players I think most matches end up like Boxing Day. I know if I was a centre half doing my job, watching how lacking in quality that forward line is, I'd have probably come to blows with them.

Is Gordon, Gray, Mcneil and Iwobi capable of scoring even 15 goals between them over a season? I think they're on 6 combined with about 6 assists which is absolutely appalling, them as a group along with Maupay should be horrified and embarrassed in equal measures.

The board/management for whatever reason seemed to think a miracle would occur where they'd all suddenly start slotting like they've never done in any of their careers and that's gross negligence.

We chucked the first 5 games without a striker then brought in a striker and play him in a way which is blindingly obvious he's incapable of playing

Thinking back to those early days at the start of the season playing without a striker. Was unforgivable then, who would have thought we would go the whole season without one.

We literally threw 5 games from the off so basically we needed to get 40 points from 33 games....this from a side who barely mustered that over the course of a whole season last season.

Gross negligence on an epic scale.

Thomas Tuchel, should be the no.1 choice... available now

Can we just throw Poch £20 million for a 6 month contract to keep us safe?

Yip we are desperate.
The bloke who had to go to France, inherited Mbappe and Neymar, still lost the league, but then won the French Charity Shield would not keep us up IMO.

Is he a specialist at relegation fights? im not sure he is
This x1000.

At least Leeds had a pop at winning the league and a great champions league run! We’ve had a couple of 8th placed finishes!
I know it's slightly off-topic in a Lampard thread, but man did Leeds have an amazing team back in the day. Somewhere in a parallel universe that side with Bridges, Smith, Viduka, Kewell, Bowyer, Ferdinand etc etc hoovered up all the trophies in a decade of dominance. Must surely be one of the best squads never to win anything.

Some real mediocre players you’ve listed there tbh.
