Osman.
He's been ace there for the past 2 years, but always gets shafted and shunted out wide to accommodate Cahill.
Tim's gone now. Stick Pienaar on the left, Naismith on the right and Ossie behind Jelavic, and we'll have all sorts of creative potential.
Don't know what people's obsession is with having two strikers. The strikers we have are worse than our CAM options, and our play style suits a 4-5-1 with a strong midfield much more than having a bank of four with two up front.
If we actually had another striker who was up to Jelavic's standard it would be a different story.
No start for Barkley, mate?
Same here really, 4-4-2 is a prehistoric formation anyway. I'd much rather a 4-5-1/4-3-3 with a creative player slotting in behind the striker.
When we had Beckford, Saha and Cahill, 4-4-2 looked the better option for our group of players and it was irritating that Moyes didn't try it much but right now our squad look suited to a 4-5-1 again.
I've never said he should be a first XI player.
I'd like to see him start some games and get a lot of sub appearances though. Then hopefully the season after that he'll have benefited from the experience and could make a claim for being our main man. Ossie will be ancient by then anyway like.
I'm on the fence, to be honest. Part of me wants him starting games already but I suppose 18 is still very young. And we're fortunate enough to be able to field a good team even without him.
But still anytime I see him in the starting lineup I get a little thrill of pleasure.
i voted Naismith, from what i've seen so far him and Jelavic link up as well as Baines and Pienaar.
If you play with 2 holding midfielders then you can have Pienaar, Naismith and Osman supporting Jelavic in a 4-2-3-1 where all three can alternate.
