Looking at our rivals for top 7 Sheffield Utd could very well be our toughest - their next 3 games are all at home to:

Bournemouth
Brighton
Norwich

Could easily be 7-9 points there which we will find very hard to replicate considering our fixtures.

I would be saying to the lads forget them and Spurs at this stage we need to ensure we finish above Utd, Wolves & Arsenal.

Just think what might have been if we had sacked Silva earlier.

I know it worked out well in the end timing wise - but you feel like this season has been a real missed opportunity if we dont get europe.

Depending on who wins the cups 7th or even 6th might not be enough - would be peak Everton if we got 7th but Utd win the FA Cup and finish 8th/9th and take our spot.

We could easily be in the top 4 had we had Carlo from the start of the season - just hope we get some luck and pull off some shock results over these next 4 games to keep pace with those around us.

Carlo has done a remarkable job so far with the tools he has at his disposal...and tools can be taken whichever way you want.

Ancelotti was an out of the blue sacking - we were right place right time.
Sack Silva earlier?
Only the lack of a decent candidate stopped him going 6 weeks before.
Then it finally got beyond a joke and we appointed Ferguson, if Ancelotti hadn't become available, he'd still be the manager.
Which would've been interesting to see.

Carlo has only been in the job for 2 months...cut him some slack.

He will be assessing the squad especially in the next 4 games and seeing who can cut it at the club. He's one of the most successful managers in the history of the game so he'll know what he's doing.

Just like the season Leicester won the league, we had the opportunity to push on and really have a go at getting Top 4/6 with the other “big” teams all underperforming or in transition but we pissed it up the wall giving Martinez a season too many and floundering mid table. Any time opportunities come up we never seem to take them.

Imagine if we had a good start to a season for once......... last season we had a great run towards the end and we’re doing it again now, we’d be top 6 and no1 would have anything to moan about on here (ok the 2nd parts never going to happen) but top 6 for sure.
