Thought we'd be on 4 or 5 points at this stage, while competing and pushing our opponents close. I was half right.

Exactly where I thought.
Expected us to beat Stoke, and then get 1 or 2 draws. At best I could probably see 7 points. A win against Stoke, 1 draw and possibly beat Spurs with it being a home game.
As a club we should just forfeit the Chelsea and Man United games every season because the mentality our players have, and have had since the Premier League era began, has been nothing short of a disgrace and an embarrassment. You've got Burnley going to Stamford Bridge and getting a 3-2 win there, Swansea did the same at Anfield last season and yet season after season we turn up at those grounds and we quite literally do not stand a chance.
We can be playing against 10 men for over 45 minutes, we can be leading in to the 98th minute, and Everton Football Club will simply not get a victory at Anfield, Stamford Bridge or the Emirates and barring the Oviedo winner, Old Trafford too. And our winless record at Spurs and Man City increases year on year too.
For me, the season starts after next week when we have that defeat out of the way.
Koeman has been here 15 months
Spent 150 odd million this summer alone
Yet doesnt know his best formation
His best tactics
Or even who his best players are
That is quite simply astonishing
Sigurdsson, Keane and Pickford is far from a waste of money.Points wise it is no surprise - performance wise we are a worse team than we were last year - the club has frittered away the Lukaku windfall IMO.
Can't see us getting anything at old Trafford.Absolutely bang on track for where I thought we'd be. After 5 games I expected 5 points.

Nope but after that we'll be behind where I thought we'd be. I thought we'd get a point against Spurs, but until the fifth game I can't say we're behind yet.
Performance wise I had hopes for better than this, but as soon as we had yet another abortion of a summer transfer window because of a fraud owner and didn't bring in the striker, I lost all hope. I expected a strong 7th, possibly pushing 6th this season - now I think it's about looking over our shoulder and staying in the top eight.
I would've taken W-D-L-D and then another draw.
I thought Arsenal were more than vulnerable but, as you say, at least stay thereabouts.
The only comfort right now is that there's only been three runaways at the top. Despite how bad we've been, we're only three points off fifth.
In many ways our next three games are irrelevant. We should be turning out the reserves against Sunderland, or even the youth team - the biggest game of the season, by far, is Bournemouth now.
It's a juggling act, Atalanta and then Man U followed by Sunderland.
Imagine the fume if we did that and lost though!
