When will we start taking Victor seriously?

its not so much his age its this falling down like he was hit by a train or his mouthing to the ref if he is beating to a ball, maybe it is Vic's time

To be honest i think a lot of the falling over was due to balance issues and taking nudges from big ugly center halves.
The mouth n beating the floor is just frustration, shows he cares tho'.
Believe myself that Vic has learnt how to deal with defenders his balance is improving so he is able to hold up the ball better and lean into defenders before they nail him. He's starting to look more composed and lifting his head.
Honestly believe that he is starting to believe in himself and is ready to shine,if he can stay fit.
Hope so anyway

Vic is blossoming, how foolish would he have been if he would have forced through that move to hull when he was a kid.

Actually think it would have done him good to go out on loan but for injuries.
Pretty sure somebody would have picked him up by now if that transfer had gone through.
Really don't think Moyes would have agreed to sell him tho'.
Vic has always had too much potential to get rid

personally i thought he shouldn't have been dropped from the starting 11 yesterday but when he came on he did the perfect response ...scored and played well

still not a big fav of him but credit where credits due but its about time he re payed EFC with some consistency

BUT if naismith continues to get the nod over him( wrongly) hes gonna go back to be the inconsistent VIC we all know

this. didn't look stroppy and all that shizz, the main reason why so many got on his back - but he came on knowing he could win the game and that's what he did.

well in vic (y)

24 is young for a striker of his type.
Power takes time to hone.
People have a pop at him because he was good enough to break through at 16 and has been around for so long.
Vic's time has come

Wrong.. People have a pop at him because he was a poor striker, with a poor shot, no effort, fell over, lazy, slow, stroppy and taking up wages without scoring goals when up as a striker or making assists when played as a winger.
This has stopped though because he has finally started to play football and score some goals.

He looks like a loon celebrating his goals lately, like they mean the world to him. That's a good thing. All strikers need to love scoring.

I've stopped slating him since last season when he done very well coming off the bench when he was fit.

In days past he had a touch like a baby elephant, went down easier than Jodie Marsh and looked disinterested at best.

Now his touch looks decent, his finishing is, at times, superb and it looks like the game means something to him.

I don't think he's ever going to be fully fit for seasons at a time as his build and Moyles ideas of how a striker should work makes that impossible, but, he can still do a good job for us in the same vein as he's doing now.

I have never been a big fan,and was surprised he got a new contract but thought that Moyes would know best and deemed it worth him getting a three year contract (it was three wasn't it ?).he's done well to give him credit, thought his goal at GP against Newcastle was absolute quality, thought he was very unlucky to lose his place after that game.
for me it's going to take from say now to the end of the season to decide about him, great show on Wednesday night but just as capable of going missing against Cheltenham
for what it's worth I do think it might be an idea to drop Jelavic for Vic if only for a game ,just to send the message out to both players that the position is available.

He has come on leaps and bounds over the last 6 months; especially with his professionalism, whether a quiet word in his ear by senior players, Moyes or family it looks like he's took advice. I actually thought he was unlucky to be dropped after the Swansea away game.

Against Newcastle he changed the game, in years gone by coming to the end of that game he would have given the ball away, lost possesion or done something annoying. But he played the lone striker role perfectly for the last 10-15 minutes, holding the ball up, telling Oviedo where to run and the screaming at him when the ball was lost.

Its little things like that which show a massive improvement in his game and attitude.

I'll take him serious when he's named against us during a 30 game drought.

In fact I'll put £20 on him to score in those circumstances, if not only to shout "FFS Victor you useless twunt" that one last time.
