Current Affairs What's this?

Reminder;

Personally think this forum has took a bit of a nose dive in the past fortnight - some are being tedious bores and/or, just antagonising for the LOLZ. Listen, I get it. I'd be inclined to do the same, but play the game. The people who get a titty lip in this forum will be treated the same as those who are here solely to stir the pot/bait.

Sadly had to start binning people from this forum for the above, unnecessarily snide and antagonistic.

The advice remains the same - please don't take the piss...

Politics. Or 'current affairs'. We've never really got to grips with how best to handle this discussion on here. This is a new initiative we're trialing for a month. If it works, sound. If it doesn't - we go back to;

My own view is that we're a football forum and politics divide and cause needless angst that is detrimental to the community. Approaching 10 years in February, we've always tried to discourage political threads because of the the outcome is typically a negative one.

Still, GOT is a unique beast - lots have asked for a place to discuss current affairs and this is our 'But Ok...' and we'll review in March. It's your platform and it's down to you to make it work.

Our advice to make this forum work;
  • Don't be a tit.
If you are, your account will be denied access to this forum.

God speed.

Courtesy of Everton I’ve been to Ukraine and it’d be naive to say there weren’t far right lads there because I saw lads with swastika tattoos. I’ve also been to Belarus and it wasn’t any different to be honest , the far right is alive and well in much of Eastern Europe , not sure how it relates to Putin attacking a European nation .

Also it’s not just Eastern Europe . If the UK got attacked and we had a citizen army I suspect some of the flags displayed by units from Stoke , Burnley and the rest would probably make pretty shocking viewing .

Britain first got a blue tick on twitter so facism is now officially recognised as a political organisation, at least by centralists like musk.
