I think the lack of changes at HT last night shows that he has no clue tactically, how anyone could watch that and think it was ok not to make at least 2 subs is beyond me, I cant remember the last time he made a change that positively influenced a game.

The plan (as such as it is) appears to be to buy established premiership players to keep us in the top 6 with an experienced manager, whilst at the same time Walsh buys younger promising players with a view to selling them on for a profit so that we can buy established premiership players etc:dance:

The second part of the plan would be to keep this going until we can sort out a new ground and the club then sold for a large profit. At least that is the way that I see things with Moshiri.

What I think the plan should be is to develop a core of young british players which are a combination of homegrown talent like Davies, Dowell, Kenny etc add the likes of Pickford, Keane and Lookman, then supplement this with some foreign talent where there are gaps. In doing this we should be trying to build a team capable of winning the league in the medium term. This depends on getting the right coach in and the right DOF to do this. Koeman is not the right coach and never has been, i'm not convinced Walsh is the right person either but as I don't think he has had responsibility
for the first team signings i'd cut him some slack. Right now i would get rid of Koeman and give Unsworth the job with Royle until the end of the season and then review the situation.

So in the last 15 years, Everton could not reasonably have expected to:

Sign a goalkeeper from relegated Sunderland
Sign a defender from Burnley (bottom half side)
Sign a midfielder from relegated Villa
Sign a midfielder from United that had turned out for Southampton in League One and was surplus to requirements
Sign a striker from United who it was perceived his best days were behind him
Sign a player from a lower tier Spanish side
Sign a player from a nearly relegated Swansea

Put this in another thread a while back.

The profiles of the players we have bought are so completely uninspiring. £57m on two Swansea players? If you're looking to cook a great meal, it's much harder when you use poor quality ingredients. If you're Dowell or Lookman, do you see Vlasic thrown straight in and think "I've got no chance of establishing myself here"? Especially when you also see Calvert-Jo getting massive amounts of game time despite being diabolical ? Not sure for a lot of the squad if they can see a bigger picture for themselves.

He changed the formation at HT though in fairness
