whats Moyes playing at?

No but he could have tried to mitigate it a bit. Ferguson would have been talking about extreme provocation and how Shawcross is a dirty type and how Mo never gets anything off refs.

It's purely Moyes wanting to be seen as a stand-up, honest man. I can't see a single benefit EFC get from it.

Apart from the being stand up and honest bit, what 2 wrongs don't make a right ever done for us.

Because thats what it would be.

Is honesty the best policy?

Moyes comments after the match have guaranteed Felli a big ban IMO. He's give the all clear for muppets like Lawrenson to give Felli loads, which he did.

When did you hear Ferguson calling Keane a thug? When did Wenger ever admit his side were all dirty cheats? Has Brenda come out and called Suarez a diver?

More chance of winning the lottery than seeing that because they all don't feel the need to be an honest john, as they know your putting your own side at a disadvantage.

I personally was very happy with Moyes stance on this. We are Everton FFS, not the RS

At least he will be fresh for the after christmas fixtures.

3 match ban ...I reckon...but hey what do I know...

Merry Christmas Mr Fellaini.

Well played Moyes as per usual. Truth and honesty over pretending its okay any day of the week. The FA will look at it irregardless of what is said. And if Moyes blames Shawcross or if Moyes blames Fellaini... it makes no difference as to the outcome of any FA investigation. To suggest it would is just daft.
The only thing it makes a difference on is whether the media is with you or against you... Sounds to me like they completely back the honesty thing and if you add that to the way they handled Nevilles dive we are becoming more and more media friendly at current. This is a good thing.

Its absolutely pointless giving the didnt see it excuse when it is there for all, including the FA to see for themselves. Saying he should be punished will not do more harm than keeping gob shut, the FA will not punish him more or less than if moyles said nothing. Well, if moyes has been sensible and represents him personally at a hearing it may in fact go in Felainis favour a touch. The EFC handling of this has been been excellent. I'm sure he was given a rocket by moyles as we'll be without him for a few games and we could've been down to 10 men in that game yet we havent heard any of this in public. He doesnt get everything right but moylez is spot on on this so far.

This is turning into Felli-gate.

3 game ban, move on. It's a man's game, this country is getting so over sensitive about just about everything.

I would of 'accidentally' studded his toes, not nice at all.

And that would have been the smart thing to do.

Felli's actions were childlike in their naivety. Similar to your kid jumping up and pointing out the fat woman on a bike as she goes past.

Goffy teeth does worse most weeks - no claims for bans there look at the Derby the marallas stamp was shown but went unpunished!

Oh agreed mate. He's a dirty snide the likes of which I just wouldn't want to see in my team. Felli was stupid in his actions but that's still a world away in my eyes from the really snide ****.

So now Moyes is getting slammed for being honest? Fellaini was an absaloute tit and deserves what he is going to get, you cannot defend what he did and if it was Suarez who had done it and we seen their fans try to defend him we would be laughing our tits off at them.

Get a grip he deserves whatever punishment he gets.

I haven't seen any Evertonians defending what Fellaini did, we're just pointing out the provocation. There was no provocation when Suarez dived in the Rodwell incident nor when he assaulted Mirralas, Distin and the Fulham defender, to mention a few of his offences. And yes, most Reds defend him and seem blinded by him. Moyes is being honest, but should say more in defence of his player.

Frankly I'm proud to call Moyes our manager in this situation. No messing around, told it how it is. Also I thought highlighted the rather massive difference in class between how Everton and Liverpool act as football clubs over controversial incidents.
