Intresting comments form Moyes at the pre match press conference yesterday when he asked what held up his contract signing he simply says we tried to change a few things around! Anyone have any idea what hes talking about, maybe a possible takeover that fell through, new players, coaching staff, the structure of the club, becuase i havent a breeze? It would suggest though whatever they tried to implement didnt work!

"There were many different reasons. We’d had a really good season and we tried to change things around – for different reasons, but in the end, I get on really well with Bill, and I got on really well with the board, and we were only ever trying to do the best for Everton all along.

you're not alone:unsure:

judging from his previous comments, i think he was trying to change it by going for big players to take us to the next level instead of trying to pick a few gems from the championship.

whatever the reason, i am sure that he was acting in the best interests of everton. apparently he could have made over £200k in the time it took for him to sign from when the contract was offered so that only proves the point....anyone who suggests he was holding the club ot ransom for personal reasons is clearly wrong

Didnt he hand in a new six year plan or something? He's been banging on about changing up the team now. Rodwell playing against Arsenal was a surprise that almost paid off, 20-year old Fellaini coming in -- it think he's maybe trying to take the Wenger mode of management, get young unknown talent in and mould them.

His comments after the game were either encouraging or he's got an eye on rebuilding -- "What I'm finding out is that there are one or two who can't handle it as well as I thought they would do. I'm sure they will come out of it but if we get into a situation like this again then there are one or two who we need to be stronger."

I wonder which two?

About the midfield -

"But they (Rodwell and Fellaini) are two boys who are just 17 and 20-years-old in the middle of the park. We are trying to find different ways of playing and maybe look to build a new team."

Shake ups could be happening.

I think Yak needs benching. Saha should come in. Castillo needs to prove himself because he looks a talent.

I thought the delay was about him guaranteeing his role would remain unchanged if there was a takeover at the club.

He didn't want to be in a position where he signs the contract, then the club is taken over and they immediately install a "Director of Football" who has to approve all signings etc. like happens at Newcastle, and a few other clubs as well.

That was my understanding from an interview the other day.

I tend to agree with you mate.(y)

What he means is

"Over the closed season we tried to let other people take a bit of control and decisions around the club. Unfortunately this did not work and the chunky financial fool left to visit a friend who has just bought a club in Spain. Myself and Bill, who is a close friend and the best thing ever to happen to Everton FC since the solar eclipse was invented have decided now that we don't like having another person in our cosy meetings.

We have decided that the only way to keep the love fresh is to do it our own way, like we have been doing up till now, and stop trying to make the jump to do what the sky 4 do. we have realised that doing it our own way is far better and we are going to revert back to uncovering our gems and let the money clubs waste it on lavish players with huge ego's.

I love Bill, and Bill loves me, and I shall smite thee if you say anything about it. "

Or maybe I read too much into it. ?? :P:P:P:P:P
