in homage to the discussion here, let's have a snap-poll to see what we really think, and let's be a little specific about what kinds of cheats we're talking about.

We have to assume that every game is a Big Match, otherwise trying to put match-context into the poll will get too complicated.

Multiple choice this, lads.

Definition of "acceptable" = meaning we wouldn't complain at the time or even after the game if it helped us win, and we wouldn't be against using it again.

If it means we win I'm really not arsed.

Ideally win without obviously.

But a wins a win and the games the game.

I'm a nasty sh*t.

No cheating at all. Were Everton.

One theory says the illusion of moral superiority supporters have of their teams is the very foundation of sport fandom.

Which I disagree with, I like knowing the imperfections and admitting to weaknesses of myself and my loved ones...that includes Everton.

I picked:
2) snide fouls
3) blatant fouls
4) reckless fouls
8) intentional handball (Suarez v Ghana I thought was brilliant. I would've done the same. You either take one for the team and take the red card or your country is out of the world cup. You have to put them first, and the sacrifice was rewarded: the pen was saved and they went through. I actually had no problem with that)
10) timewasting but *not* feigning injury to do so

Me neither. I had a right job trying to argue this point at the time. And I was supporting Ghana like everyone else too.

Shame Suarez turned out to be a far worse wrongun than that.

Back then I liked him because of that. He got mauled by the press which I couldn't understand but also, unlike the rest, I was supporting Uruguay. Just so impressed by their stature as a footballing nation given their tiny population (only a few hundred thousand more than Wales) and Diego Forlan was giving this fantastic swansong, he deserved to go through.
