Seem to be a lot of threads at the moment complaining about the media not giving us enough respect, or not including us in the canon of so called big clubs.

We're Everton, and I know full well what we are. I don't need that affirming by anyone else.

I know We shouldn't care but it is very annoying listening to the media put Liverpool in all the top 4 talk yet We never get a mention. It gets on my nerves as I personally think We have a better squad, they happen to have a World Class striker who carries them.

Anyway, I shouldn't be bothered but I do get irritated by it. EVERTON AREN'T WE!!

Once we we win something or achieve a CL place, and are then not mentioned maybe i will rethink but as it stands we'v done nothing over the last few years to suggest we should be talked about as anything other than a top 8 side.

We keep going in the right direction and we will soon be impossible to ignore. Be carefull you know what English media/mentality is like, they love to build someone up to knock them down!

I really don't care one jot about the media. We are who we are, and it's nice to just keep motoring along under Mr Martinez without any added pressure due to media hype. Long may it continue.

If we win a trophy, then clearly the hype truck will have been parked on Goodison Road but I'd have no problems with that scenario!!

What does it matter? Do we take our identity by who we are or by what other people say about us?

I don't read papers anyway, and I tend not to take any notice of the news or stuff like that

subsequently I tend not to know anything about current affairs or contemporary social/cultural events that could be deemed important

I can usually tend to blag it

I love the toffs though, proper love them

Because it effects the way other teams treat us

Look at the Baines bid for proof of that, or the Lescott situation a way back

As long as we're seen as not one of the "big" sides, our club will always be put under undue pressure to sell our greatest assets

You missed the fact we got invaded last month by Russia then mate and are now part of the new soviet block?

That's not the sole reason of course, but it's a contributing factor

A better media placing would help us in a lot of ways

I know how good Everton are, but it would help if we weren't dumped on so much by certain people in certain parts of the media
