What position gets Europe?

Personally I think our only hope is to finish 8th and get a Confetence League place but that too is looking less likely right now. Without 3 points tomorrow it’s over.

Finishing inside the top 10 will be seen as slight progression but it’ll still be very disappointing.

Like always the lack of a consistent goal scorer is why we are where we are. Mid table,
Conceding late goals has cost us valuable points this season. Hopefully, that is something we can get sorted out going forward.

Absolutely win or bust. The fans deserve nothing but an attacking line up and quick changes if things aren't going to plan. If we find ourselves 2 points and -3 goals behind Brentford in 8th today then not only are Champions League hopes gone, but Europa League too.

The Conference League would be an utter disaster unless the owners spend massively on the squad to have us capable of playing in 4 competitions next season — which they clearly won't.

We'd need 3 and probably 4 players capable of playing up front in a 4-5-1 (one cannot be George as he hasn't bothered trying him); Grealish back; a starting right back (needed anyway); another quality CM. Probably a £150m spend.

Qualify for Conference League and we finish bottom half next season. What's the point? Much rather miss out on that BS competition and have a squad capable of challenging the top 5.

Conference League or a bigger budget? Europe for me...but 70% v 115%

Uefa has serious concerns about the impact of the Premier League's new financial rules on the rest of Europe.

England's top-flight clubs have voted to move to a system called squad cost ratio (SCR) next season.

This allows teams to spend 85% of their income on player costs, although a complicated set of factors means clubs could go as high as 115%.

Uefa's SCR spending limit is 70%, which all clubs in the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League must adhere to.

Seems that clubs like Villa and Newcastle are being similarly threatened but the benefits of European Competition outweigh the punishment.

The reason we aren't 'fighting for our lives' is in no small part down to Moyes.

We weren't fighting for our lives at the end of the points deduction season either, thanks to Dyche's leadership.

I know who's feat I see as a grater achievement: not the feller who's got 48 points after spending £110M and having 12,000 extra supporters at home to push us over the line.

Moyes has shat the bed this season. Everyone knows what an underachievement this has been.

I've seen this movie before 🤔

I know what you mean, as the mental aspect of reaching a final or having success can set free additional power.

But we have it in our own hands. Let's hope the usual Moyes' will finish strong effect will end with 3 wins, despite our form isn't the greatest. We would need them tho as the goal difference isn't doing us a favour this time in Europe battle.

This is so true about the lack of goals.

Spurs have scored more than us, in fact there are only four clubs who have scored less than us. We have to completely prioritise this in the summer, once and for all.

Disagree on the Conference League to be honest. We get that, we could easily win it next season.

Doesn’t this put them at risk in the EPL next season too then - unless they increase their revenue they’ll miss the new SCR test of 85%
Surely they will need to sell?

The UEFA ones do seem to be more of a cash cow for them than any form of deterrent.

All these financial rules they concoct always put the brakes on the majority of clubs yet still seem to allow certain clubs to gain an advantage. It’s a racket.
